I watched the first half of “Silverado” last night— somehow, I’ve never seen a second of it before. Had no clue that John Cleese was in it. I feel very stupid.

The Covenant by Guy Ritchie with Jake Gyllenhaal is pretty good.  You just have to look past a bit of crazy heroics and the story is good.

Guy Ritchie is a favorite of mine and this one kept me entertained.

Saw this as a kid at the drive in during a rainstorm.  Had the same reaction with nightmares the following week.

Ditto! Creepy little British fuckwads!!

Plan 9 from Outer Space. I know it’s supposed to be the worst movie ever made, but I’ve seen worse!

One of my absolute favorite movies of all time. Freshman year in college….it and Pale Rider came out essentially at the same time. I declared then….”The Western isn’t dead, it just now woke up!”

Watched Stowaway (Anna Kendrick/Toni Collete/Daniel Dae Kim) tonight.   Fairly predictable but decent acting.   Not a bad way to spend Friday night winding down.

I saw it in the theater. Afterward my friend told me, you know that was Luke Skywalker?   I said, "Weird, did he get hooked on drugs?"

Patti Rocks. Independent film from 1988. Raunchy, funny, honest and insightful.  A buddy road movie that is usurped by an independent woman.

Why didn’t you watch the whole thing? When are you going to watch the rest? You’re really missing out if you don’t finish it. That would be really stupid.

Because today his jurisdiction stops here.

A Planet of the Apes marathon. Watching Beneath the Planet of the Apes. How in the hell did they get Charlton Heston to come back for this piece of garbage? And as I’m typing it, Charlton is one weird ass name!

The Guilty w Gyllenhaal

Movie sucks.

Think it is a remake of a foreign movie with same name

I had free time yesterday afternoon and so I got a ticket to Fool’s Paradise. I cannot say it strongly enough. Do not watch this movie. I left after 30 minutes. I stayed that long to see if it would get better. The person that greenlighted this movie should probably be a Wal-Mart greeter instead.

I usually am pretty middle of the road on movies and find enjoyment in most every film I watch, but this was just, well l, I’m not real sure what it was supposed to be.

It’s on me for going in, but I almost never leave a movie. I wasn’t mad and my day was still awesome as usual, but man that movie just had no real point to it. Had some pretty good actors and actresses in it as well which further confounds me as to how the movie wound up being like that.

Nah, @GoPokes83 is right. That movie took a weird turn into bomb worshipping telepathic face melting crazy people.

That's why people like it

I watched 12 Angry Men on a flight this week. Not exactly breaking news but wow, what a great film. And when you keep in mind that it was made in 1957 it’s that much better. Loved it.

Big George Foreman. Reminded me how much I hated Ali at the time, but the Lord does work in mysterious ways. They could have done MUCH better with the casting of Cosell.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Great movie if you're into D&D or the fantasy story genre. They do a great job of creating a D&D world utilizing all sorts of characters, monsters, spells and gear from the RPG to color the story and make it like a real campaign in a D&D world. The cast is pretty great all around, but my favorite was Hugh Grant. He was an especially amazing douchebag feudal lord, and I mean that as a compliment. It's an enjoyable popcorn film with lots of action and adventure, well worth a watch. It got a 91% RT rating, and that joyless muggle Kyle Smith hated it, so you know it's good.

Never paid any attention to D&D, is that any type of prerequisite to enjoying the movie or is it a good stand alone story?

Watched Operation Fortune on Prime. It is what it is, a Jason Statham action movie. I was expecting a little more from a Guy Ritchie movie but it was alright. I’d rate it 3 out of 5. I know a lot of guys are, but I’m not a fan of Aubrey Plaza. Not saying I wouldn’t bang her, but she has the acting range of a skillet and all of 3 facial expressions.

Nope.  I know nothing about D&D and thought it was entertaining.  It's basically a superhero movie similar in construct to Guardians of the Galaxy, IMO.

Yeah, this was not good.  Plaza was using the voice she used when she was playing make believe with Burt Macklin, FBI on Parks and Rec. except she kept it up for the entire movie.

Just watched Se7en again. The academy should have arranged some kind of best co-actor awards for Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt. They play off each other like Page and Bonham. Instead Tom Hanks wins for going full regard

Most great movies I’ve rewatched several times. This one is so intense I just can’t rewatch it.

This. Watched it for the first time on a flight from Tokyo earlier today. Highly recommend.

I say it actually had too much boxing.  Everyone knows who is going to win the match and there is so much material to cover in GF's real life. For example the movie does not have Don King and barely mentions Angelo Dundee or the grill.

Bottle Shock. Amusing, nicely put together movie about 1970s California wine makers (largely yokel looking people) and a struggling wine specialist (Alan Rickman) investigating to see if Cali wines are any good. Great cast. Nice storylines. Plenty of heart and laughs.

Bill Pullman's early scenes with Rickman are so interesting as both actors have such distinct mannerisms. Highly recommended.

John Wick: Chapter 4. Slams and goes hard.
