Saw Blocked today at the theater. Actually funnier than I thought it would be, bit I love Leslie Mann. And the girl who played John Cena's daughter was really good as well.

Wasn't as good as the Rotten Tom rating but I enjoyed it for what it was. And I love Leslie Mann. Did I mention I love Leslie Mann?

Finally saw blockers. Shit was hilarious

I don’t know how to describe this movie. A thriller without any thrills?  It’s a very odd movie, but I can’t say that I didn’t enjoy it.

dragged across concrete.

decent but not enough of the over-the-top crazy gore like in zahler’s other movies.  jennifer carpenter’s face getting blown off was pretty much it.

Yesterday. Not the greatest but a good family flick to at least force kiddos to listen to some Beatles tunes.

Urban Cowboy. The slam dunk to establish Houston as a drinking town. It's hot as f*** here, what are we supposed to do? I've never been in a city with full bars every day of the week.

don’t leave houston much, do you?

Bad times at the el royale.

I don’t really know what genre this movie is but I like it.

Haha, they do call me Inner Looper at work. I really only leave the Loop unless I'm going to to IAH Bush or Austin. I haven't been impressed with the bar attendance in Manhattan.Something tells me Chicago is still  a drinking town. It's cold as f***, what are they supposed to do?

Lily James was so cute in that

Just wrapping up The House that Jack Built, on showtime.

If I say it’s a Lars van Trier movie about a serial killer, is that enough of an explanation?  It’s as wrong as you imagine.

Matt Dillon stars.

Shaft.   It was actually very funny with a decent plot.

Dumbo (2019).

At this point I'm not really sure how Tim Burton keeps getting directing gigs. He's one-note and it stopped being an interesting note like 15 years ago.

catch 22,  didn't understand it all the third time around either.  But a great movie, nevertheless.

Finally saw Infinity War on Netflix. Interesting and I know, even though I haven't seen Endgame, the gist of what happens in it. Hard to avoid spoilers these days. Yes, I know I am way behind. Probably Redbox Endgame rather than wait for it to drop on Netflix.

Can You Ever Forgive Me (2018)

This is one of those flicks that may suffer from really good acting.  The main characters are real assholes and the McCarthy character is just kind of gross.  But accomplishes what it was trying to do, I think.  A for effort but not very fun.

The Silence of the Lambs (free on Amazon Prime, fwiw.)  It has held up well.  Newer movies of the genre have not been able to "out shock" it.

The Town.

A little violence, a little baseball, and a little Blake Lively.  What’s not to like?

The McCarthy character???

Kiddo talked me into taking him to see stuber. Holy fuck.  Everyone associated with this abortion should be deported to fallujia.

Bladerunner 2049.  The ending gets a bit formulaic.  (Why didn't they kill K in Vegas?)  Whole movie is a bit slow and it has been criticized for being "too technically perfect" (wtf?").  But so what, it's awesome.  Ten years from now it'll be held as equal to or better than the original.

The McCarthy is pretty gross, wouldn’t be unexpected for her character to be

The Hollow Point - not great but not bad. Drug money shoot em up in a small border town. great casting

Pavarotti - produced by Ron Howard.  Very good documentary on the life of the great tenor.  Even if you’re not an opera fan you would like this show.

also Notable that it's the first Ron Howard flick which didn’t include Clint

no. it was that bad.  damn near every scene was cringeworthy bad dialog, acting, etc.  literally top 5 worst movies ive ever seen.  My expectations were extremely low going in, and they blew them out of the water.

surprising, because if anyone in hollywood has charisma I’d say dinesh is at the top of that list.

Well, if this is the most positive comment about this movie...

I Love You, Now Die: The Commonwealth v. Michelle Carter.

Another really well done documentary on HBO. Carter is currently 5 months into the 15 month sentence that she received, but just filed an appeal to the Supreme Court arguing that her conviction violated both her right to free speech under the 1st Amendment and her right to due process under the 5th Amendment.

Spiderman into the Spiderverse was very enjoyable.  Kids and I liked it, and the soundtrack is a nice CLEAN mix of hip-hop that I don't mind listening to with the kids.

On flight over to Europe...

Shoplifters - quality Japanese film that opens up questions about family.

Tanguy - French farce about a son who refuses to move out.

Shoplifters was the better movie, but Tanguy was enjoyable.

It's only top 5 worst movies if you've seen 10 other movies.  So much crappy shit out nowadays, this was no where nearly as bad as some.

Now if you had said that you didn't realize it was Mira Sorvino until halfway into the movie I would have believed that.  Bitches face is frozen she talks like a ventriloquist.

Edit:  I was disappointed that they had a great pair of tits from Betty Gilpin that they had ample opportunity to show based on the storyline and decided instead to show some cock.  This metoo film bullshit is out of control.

Traveling to Memphis for work so I thought I'd watch "If Beale St. Could talk" and wow, what a film. Beautiful. Moving. Sad. Strong. I enjoyed it as much as any movie I've seen in 2019 I think...except for John Wick 3, because, I mean, come on.

As if we needed more evidence that you suck.

Yesterday - damn this movie was great. My movie of the year.

Perfect date flick. If you can’t get laid after this movie, you need to buy a sex doll.
