October 11, 20205 yr The secret we keep. post ww2 thriller, good movie, nothing insane, just a decent rainy afternoon movie

October 13, 20205 yr Hot Fuzz. Fun to revisit but it's the weakest of Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz/World's End.
October 13, 20205 yr The Lie - it was okay, but I couldn't get over how bad the beginning was. Terminator: Dark Fate - this was terrible. I didn't even mind the young augmented terminator fighter. She did a good job. Watching a geriatric woman and geriatric terminator try to fight a new terminator was hilariously bad. The story was stupid. The dialogue was horrible. This was one of the worst entries by far.

October 13, 20205 yr The Outpost. Pretty good with a lot of clunky dialog. It’s also too soon to rip off one of the more popular Games of Thrones lines.
October 13, 20205 yr Started watching the Lie. Made it to her tossing the chick off the bridge shut it down. Horribad acting don’t think I have enough in me to watch

October 13, 20205 yr Elizabeth - golden age (2007) costume and production is insane. abbie cornish is smoking hot. movie is kinda trash. heard the first Elizabeth (1998) is better. wlil watch that after
October 13, 20205 yr Started watching the Lie. Made it to her tossing the chick off the bridge shut it down. Horribad acting don’t think I have enough in me to watch You turned this off??? You missed out. We watched it twice this weekend. Hilariously bad. The worst characters, who continuously make the worst possibly decisions, and to top it off the acting is so over the top it’s cringeworthy. If I hadn’t researched and found out it otherwise, I would have thought it was supposed to be a dark comedy. I’d give it another shot. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

October 14, 20205 yr Rock The Kasbah. This belongs in the underrated thread, but I'm too lazy to search for it. Bill Murry, Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel, Bruce Willis, Danny McBride, Scott Caan... it's a tour de force of talent but it flopped hard. Still, this movie makes me smile and legit lol a few times.

October 15, 20205 yr The Awful Truth (1937) Leo McCarey flick - Cary Grant as the coolest of the cool. Some very good bits, but as in most of these, some of the longer scenes can get away from you and have you looking at your watch. The dog, however, was a badass.

My first thought was that The Thin Man ripped this dog off but the first Thin Man was a few years before this and then a few came after. Lost it when the little guy was playing hide and seek.
October 15, 20205 yr watched a movie called deerskin last weekend. cute little independent, foreign flick i was pleasantly surprised with. killer style.
October 16, 20205 yr The Untouchables is practically on a loop on the Starz channels. God this is terrible yet I can’t look away
October 16, 20205 yr Completely unnecessary entry in the early 80s slasher cannon. Joe Bob says don't check it out.

October 18, 20205 yr From TCM thread Elevator to the Gallows (1958) (French: Ascenseur pour l'échafaud; previously known as Frantic in the US) I had only seen Atlantic City and Murmur of the Heart by Louis Malle. miguelito nails it. This movie is very cool. This is one of those that the extras on the DVD were well worth it. The Miles Davis stuff is great, as is the cliched intellectual french interview. Kind of cool that Malle's first big job was as cameraman for Jacques Cousteau. And the second with Robert Bresson, which may explain some of the way his actors approach things. Viewed Jeanne Moreau in a new light. Her RBF had always turned me off, but she was certainly throwing down a vibe as she wandered the streets.
October 18, 20205 yr Went to see the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre at Tinseltown Plano last night. Some observations: (Spoilers?)- Why did I think the kids were traveling to Austin for a concert? Is that in a remake? A different movie? The fact they went down there to check if their Grandfathers grave was messed with makes total sense.- I had always remembered the door slam scene (first kill) as being the scariest scene. In the theater, the scene where Leatherface comes out of the dark to kill Franklin was the scariest. - Marilyn Burns’ screamed non stop for a solid 30 minutes. I bet she couldn’t talk for a month.- Cool to learn Larroquette did the narration for a joint. - Camera work is just incredible. - I hadn’t remembered the black truck driver coming in and saving the day at the end. He wasn’t having it! I’m going to assume he lives after saving her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
