Men at Work - Charlie Sheen, Emilio Estevez bro flick. Haven't watched this in 20 years or so but it holds up for a lightweight, scatterbrain comedy. Go in with low expectations and you will be entertained.

Gone Girl - Kind of half-assed paid attention to it but didn't realize how good it was what parts I did watch and will have to catch it completely some day.

The Program is on Hulu. Great film.

Concrete Cowboy - really good. Elba is great per usual but the kid does a great job too.

and this is the second time I’ve seen Method Man show his subtlety good acting chops

Boss Level.  Groundhog day with lots more weapons, blood and gore, killing and Rob Gronkowski.
Worth watching.
I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. I enjoyed it.

The Program. Or at least I started it. They hit all of the cheesy diatribes in the first 20 minutes. Not much point in watching the rest.

The Empty Man- an ambitious and non-formulaic atmospheric horror (like Hereditary, The Witch, Kill List, etc) that’s mostly great, and had me thinking about it all day after watching it yesterday morning. Not sure if everything in the movie worked, but I don’t care, I enjoyed it. This movie was surprisingly well shot by a director I’d never heard of. Really long for a horror movie, but since it was mostly good, it didn’t bother me. 8.5/10

Honest Thief. Liam Neeson stars as a bank robber with a conscience. Neeson movies are like pancakes on an Sunday morning. You’ve had them before. You’ll have them again. You’ll enjoy every bite and look forward to the next time.

Don’t. If you pay attention, you’ll see the gaping plot holes that could resolve the story in about 5 minutes.

Promising Young Woman (2020)

I liked it a good deal but kinda feel like it's been over-hyped.  Might have enjoyed more if it had been a surprise,  for instance like Heathers - didn't know what to expect on that one.

Also, in regard to Mulligan, I may have had the same problem.  I really like her, and I'm thinking this might have worked better with a semi-unknown in the staring roll.   Maybe I'm underestimating how hard it was to pull the thing off.

(Of the best picture nominees Mank>>>Sound of Metal/Trial Chicago/Promising (tie)).

Civil Action, Travolta vs. Duvall.  Damn good if you haven't seen it.  Duvall plays a great lawyer.  Hell he plays a great anything.

Bill and Ted Faces the Music (2020).

I saw the critics enjoyed it, and Keanu Reeves has become something of a media darling, and I enjoyed the first Bill & Ted.

This was really, really dumb which was kinda expected, but it wasn't even funny.

I just watched the new Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer comedy Thunder something. Don’t bother. Maybe one or two funny parts.

Go- fun, energetic, ridiculous, and creative movie that feels very 90s. Hilarious at times. It's like a pulp fiction meets dazed and confused meets the hangover. 7/10

If only there had been some clue.

Too Pale to Cry was funny.

On the recommendation of someone upthread, I watched Hunter Hunter last night.

For the first 1+ hours, there was very little suspense or scary.  Then the last 15 minutes.  HOLY SHIT.

For the 100thsomething time L.A. Confidential.

Just watched it based on this rec. What in the actual fuck.

Spoiler

Pretty average made for streaming thriller up until the ending. Wasn’t even scary just gory as hell.

Call of the Wild.  Harrison Ford and a shitload of CGI.  Based on Jack London story.  Family/kids flick with fast enough pacing.  It was OK.

Nobody

The title of the movie is the amount of people that need to watch this steaming pile of shit

My neighbor told me I had to see this. Shitty John Wick, which I hate anyway. From the people behind John Wick.

You hate John Wick?

Hadn’t seen it in many years, but watched “Suicide Kings” last night.  It had been so long I forgot all the plot twists.  So I enjoyed it.

The CGI dogs in that movie were terrible. They ruined the movie.

Thought “Nobody” was awesome. Didn’t take itself seriously - fun as hell.

My Cousin Vinny and The Lincoln Lawyer. First time for both. Enjoyed both of them too.

Angela. On Netflix. 2007 release. I enjoyed it. Gorgeous b&w flick, makes you yearn for Paris.

Nobody. Fine but forgettable.

Minor things movies get wrong bug me.

1. Garage doors safety mechanisms don’t work that way. So a pizza box won’t keep it open.

2. When he cranks up the car stereo, he turns up the radio tuner knob.

Nobody was the first movie back in the theater on 14 months. Enjoyed the heck out of it.

Ahh, yes.  One of the great joys of aging. "Discovering" movies you enjoyed in the past but lost in the fog of passing years, e.g., The Quiller Memorandum, Pepe Le Moko, Cousin Cousine, Sugarland Express, Straw Dogs, M.  Now where's my ginkgo biloba?

Gemini Man.  Has some trouble at the start, but it's a fine movie overall.  I liked it.  Don't @ me.

Wow, that’s a first time I’ve heard this opinion. I thought this movie was very bad.

Rewatching "There Will Be Blood"

I so enjoy the musical score and my rabbit hole led me to Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead. Apparently, he did the non-classical pieces. I only recognize the band name. Guess I need to give him a try. Go Spotify.

It's based on Upton Sinclair's, "Oil".

Daniel Day Lewis fucks.

Just watched The Mauritanian.  It’s the new Jodie Foster/Benedict Cumberbatch movie that is a true story about a man falsely held at Guantanamo Bay and tortured for years.  Pretty good and powerful movie although the subject matter is just unbelievably sad.  Not trying to Cloak Room this thread but it really touches on some serious subjects about how we handled the aftermath of 9-11 and it sickens me in the same way like when you hear about some person on Death Row for 40 years and then they let them go because they were innocent and should never have been there in the first place.  Still would recommend the movie as its subject matter is something all Americans should be aware of.

I watched Inception last night.

Degree of difficulty: Watched it with the wife.

It's a tough follow if you are paying attention. You walked a tightrope across the Grand Canyon in a 50mph wind with no net.

How crowded was the theater?  Fully vaxxed and thinking of hitting a movie soon.
