So my SIL wants to switch from ATT to T Mobile.  But, her elderly mom is on her plan.

If she switches, will the mom's phone work without mom having to do anything?  They live 90 miles from one another and mom isn't tech savvy at all.

She will have to get her ATT phone unlocked by ATT (it must be paid off and not listed as lost or stolen) and then switch to a T-Mobile SIM card

My iphone uses a virtual sim with T Mobile.

I’ll go back to a landline before touching T-Mobile (aka: Sprint.) Fuck them motherfuckers in the fucking mouth.

What’s your complaint with T-Mobile. I use them and think they’re fine

It’s their business. Just because Sprint bought them, and kept their name, doesn’t make a shit. Still the same shit company.

It’s a long story, too much to tap out on the phone right now. But the short of it is I caught them red handed fucking people over, and they couldn’t have cared less.

I'm pretty happy with TM.  I really enjoy the free internet on AA.  Because I like to watch porn on airplanes.

I’ll go back to a landline before touching AT&T again. Fuck them motherfuckers in the fucking mouth.

I happily switched from AT&T to TMob years ago. I probably even danced a jig at the TM store when it was done. But I also recently switched from TM to Mint (aka TM lite) because I was tired of increasing plan costs and hassles. Same towers, so much cheaper, unlimited internet.

SIL (Or you) should call or go into a TM store to discuss first. But switch day they should go in together. Eliminate the potential possibility of problems especially trying to troubleshoot with someone who isn’t tech savvy. It’s just easier in the long run. Make a day of it, have lunch, go holiday shopping.

Cool, but what about your SIL and her mom’s phone?

I switched from AT&T to Consumer Cellular and never looked back.

FYI if you switch your plan to T-mobile I think you get a free iphone 17 promo right now. At least I saw an ad that said that earlier this week.

I never switch.  Pretty sure I'm still on Cingular.
