  • So is his first name “Lil” and his middle name “Jordan”?  How does that work?    Spoiler alert: I realize that is all one completely stupid ass name.  I’m sure I’ll get downvoted on this (ag

So you’re saying he has a chance?

They carrying 11 WR on the active?

(I was told not to worry about the numbers)

Nelson Agholor sounds familiar. Did we recruit him?

I hope he busts his ass and makes the roster

I wasn't really watching but had the TV on while I was using #9 oil & cleaner on some stuff on the garage workbench.

Heard lil'Jordan's name called out by the broadcasters *multiple* times.

Does anyone know if his one year deal with New England is guaranteed or just a tryout kinda deal?

I was thinking about him when the Cowboys started having WR depth issues recently.

Another petty nice showing for LJ tonight. Threw in a nice ST play as well for good measure. Hopefully Belichick is as into that sort of thing as has been purported

Someone take a chance on this dude. He's an unmitigated baller.

He’s always been a baller. I still remember his performance against OU in 2018. He was a stud in that game. Wish we had him in 2019.

Youth, Versatility Key Patriots 53-Man Roster: Who Made Cut?

WIDE RECEIVER (5):

DeVante Parker, Tyquan Thornton, Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne, Nelson Agholor

IR: Kristian Wilkerson

OUT: Tre Nixon, Josh Hammond, Lil’Jordan Humphrey

Like Montgomery, Thornton is inevitably headed to injured reserve. Humphrey showed some potential during the preseason. Yet, he was arguably the surprise cut of the day. His 6-4, 225 pound frame and crisp method of running routes make him a solid depth receiver, as well as a potential hybrid receiver/‘move’ tight end. Despite showing some flashes of potential, Nixon becomes the victim of a numbers crunch at the position. At present, New England has rostered only four healthy wide receivers.

SPECIAL TEAMERS (7):

Matthew Slater, Brenden Schooler, DaMarcus Mitchell, Jake Bailey, Joe Cardona, Nick Folk, Cody Davis

OUT: Tristan Vizcaino, Justin Bethel

New England’s special teams stalwarts are roster locks, with Bailey, Cardona and Folk earning the specialist jobs, and Slater returning as captain. Both Schooler and Mitchell appear to be New England’s core special teamers of the future. Bethel was a surprise cut, as he is one of the team’s valued special teamers. Still, he becomes an unfortunate victim of the numbers crunch

and Schooler made the Pats.  Roster moves mystify.

LJH a better receiver than everyone except Meyers and Parker. Maybe Bourne. Cowboys need to grab him for depth please. He doesn’t need to be a PS guy anymore.

There's a good chance he'll still make the 53-man roster in another week. With recent rule changes this initial cut to the 53-man is just as much about managing roster needs like placing players on IR and retaining players with multi-year contracts as it is about actually formulating a team's week one 53 man roster.

and why is the roster only 53? why not 60? So many talented guys don't make it and injuries hurt the team.

Less players to spread the salary cap around to.

Owners don’t want to increase the pie too much. Players don’t want smaller slices of the same pie.

7 more guys not playing and getting a check when 53 will do?

The cap would be increased. Didn’t they do something similar for Covid?

Dude, he had just conditioned his hair that morning.  What did you expect him to do?

Obligatorio I conditioned your mom last night…

Watching that play had me thinking about this one. Maybe not exactly the same but whatever I'm posting it anyway.

I know y’all love Ehlinger for his toughness, attitude and stuff, but Humphrey was the heart and toughness of that squad to me.

He's back on the Patriots practice squad.  Hopefully he gets a chance somewhere this season.

Tyquan Thornton is on the 53-man roster and injured. Tre Nixon or Lil Jordan will get the call up. May be a toss up as to who gets the call.

He can't suck any less than any of the garbage they're running out there.

Yet to see a target, but he's playing significant snaps on NE's opening drive

he has 2 standard elevations left - what does that mean -- only for the Pats or league wide? After those 2 are exhausted, then what happens, perma-PS or cut completely?

I think it just requires that the team at that point sign the practice squad player to the 53 man roster for at least the rest of the season.
