a male patron made a doordash order to be “left at the door”, and when the female dasher arrived he was seemingly asleep on his couch with his pants around his ankles. he recorded it and posted it online claiming she’d been sexually assaulted, and now she’s been fired and she says the police aren’t helping. opinions are divided: some say she’s the victim and is being treated unfairly (she definitely seems to be spiraling as she identifies as the victim while her employer and the police seek to disagree), while others say that her posting him nude in his own home online actually makes her the perpetrator and him the victim. i personally think the guy knew what he was doing, but i also don’t think she’s handled it well.

there’s a whole bunch of references in the comments to the fact that the door was supposedly only cracked open, and that the delivery driver opened all the way herself and then started recording, which, if true, would definitely make a difference.

this is a very good example of a case where they are both wrong:

- Obv, dude is wrong to leave the door open (a little or a lot) when having door dash delivery (my speculation is he likes being seen naked....cheap thrill)
- DD girl is also wrong for posting the video of the guy

and we are all wrong for watching any of that, or for caring even a little bit. keep your drama to yourself, don't try to be a social media star (or meteor)

The female Doordash driver is in the wrong.  Even if the door was wide open she still took video and posted it to the internet of a guy passed out naked in his own home on the couch.  If she had a problem with it she should have called the cops, not taken video and posted it online.  All evidence points to the door only being cracked open in which she would have had to go out of her way to see what was happening inside and then push the door open to get her video.  Sounds like this girl wanted to be the victim and get a big payday out of it so she could stop doing Doordash and it has backfired on her.

A big payday from some guy that uses DoorDash?  From DoorDash somehow?

I would assume she thought she could get a payday from the guy but also Doordash.  Or potentially cash in on a GoFundMe.  She clearly isn't the smartest woman out there.

Oh, she's definitely thinking of a wrongful termination angle.  That guy may be a skeez but she went over the line.  Sorry you got fired, honey.  You deserved it.

This is odd. If you work for DoorDash, it’s a completely stable career. Each and every delivery is completely normal. This poor girl probably works as a doctor during the day and has never been exposed to men with their pants down.

I feel like I’m the victim.

Ok....so if we're gonna make "asking for food while you're not wearing any pants" a bad thing, let's not share that new rule with my wife, okay?

Don't worry - she's always been okay with naked dining

Totally disagree.  He was asleep. In his own home. And apparently without opening the door and looking around, no one could see him from outside his mostly closed door.

If you can’t fall asleep on your couch after some ‘baitin and indica, why did the Founders even start this country?

I cam easily believe either that the dude drunk ordered and passed out pants down, or that he hoped she’d peak in.

But she didn’t have to peek in, could have just left the food, and could have just gone quietly to cops and managers. Running to TikTok always induces doubt.

Yup.   I can also believe that her dumbass thought she was somehow violated by seeing the naked dude, and took a video to show her manager.    But once you decide to post that image of a naked sleeping man on TikTok, you’ve jumped the shark and lost any potential support or empathy.

Why is it as a culture we’ve lost the ability to reflect on, “what if somebody opened my door and saw ME asleep nude on a couch and published video of it on the Internet? Would I want that to happen to me.?”

Exactly how difficult is it to reverse the situation and think for a second about your choices?

In this era where there is no more hated concept than empathy, and anything less than being violently selfish is seen as a betrayal of all that is good and right?  It's not just difficult, it's impossible.  We sowed the wind of toxic individuality for decades, and have deemed anything but that to be weak and evil, so now we're reaping all of the whirlwind of that toxic individuality.  It's the essence of modern society.

Semantics, but nothing about that is sexual "assault".

He seems like a drunk/high idiot (possibly perv) and she seems like an attention whore/drama queen.

Both are likely getting what they deserve out of this situation.

The correct answer.

Also the real victims here - anyone that read this story.

Let he who has never come home wasted and left the front door ajar, ordered food, then decided to crank one out while you wait and then passed out in a moment of post-nut clarity cast the first stone.

also, this is the product of the commoditization of victimhood. gen z in particular (although no generation is immune) seems to wake up every day and hop out of bed and into a dead sprint to see who can be victimized the fastest and most egregiously. the way that this girl is screaming into her phone, “THIS IS A MAN’S WORLD, I AM THE VICTIM!!!!” so desperate for validation actually made me feel sad for her. she’s *so* focused on her own (mostly self created) victimhood that it’ll never occur to her that she could have handled this differently, and that living a life where you identify as a victim is no way to live at all.

What would've been a funny story to tell your friends 20 years ago turns into a main character nightmare today. Social media has cooked people's brains.

Huh.  I guess I imagined it when the richest -- and one of the 2-3 most powerful -- man in the world said “The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy."

Own it.  That's your team, friend-o, and they've made their take abundantly clear, both in words and deeds.  No worries, though, they didn't invent the concept.  They really just exploited and amped it up to gain and maintain power.

You can run all the way to a island to hang out with Wilson, it won't make any of what I said any less true, and it won't make your alliance with that ethos any less true or any less pathetic.

You've made your sociopolitical alliances plain.  We reap what you sow.  Down to the pettiest of levels -- stupid-ass self-absorbed tik-tock bullshit.  Destroying the core American freedom of getting blasted and passing out half nekkid on your couch after ordering munchies.

Dumb bitch 100% at fault. Any other details are irrelevant.

She was charged with 2, one a class E felony in New York.

A first-time offender in that situation is prolly going to get probation and a fine when she pleads guilty.  If the idiot starts a GoFundMe page for legal bills, the guy should go ahead and sue her, as that’s probably the only shot at getting compensated.  I doubt she has any other assets.     But true, pleading guilty to any felony has some consequences down the road.

Yeah, some pretty serious ones.  She's almost certainly going to end up with a senior Cabinet position, or a House seat at worst.

You have me confused with somebody else but that is entirely unsurprising.

If the door really was wide open it's fucked up on his part even if he passed out jacking it after calling for door dash. But that doesn't justify publishing the video to the world. Take a photo/video and send to the authorities and to DoorDash. If they do nothing, go to the press, but don't publish the photos/videos. That's where she fucked up imo.

Well I’ve never done that.  But once in college, a um, friend of mine and his roommates ordered pizza after dropping acid and sorta forgot about it.  Then when the delivery guy knocked on the door, they all thought it was the cops and ran out the back door to hide.  Someone finally remembered the pizza and went back inside to get it.  But for a minute there, it was a raid!

I have not dug into it, nor will I, but I did see a comment where the ring video camera recorded the DoorDash girl opening his cracked door and filming him.

Which I’m guessing is why she was arrested and charged

Peak in, and peek in. ISWYDT.

My understanding is she left and then came back, pushed the door open and looked in. Saw him dick out and took a video.

She’s supposedly got 2 felony charges against her. She’s absolutely in the wrong.
