November 17Nov 17 Popular Post https://247sports.com/player/austin-goosby-46142935/ No. 18-ranked Austin Goosby commits to Texas: 'I am coming straight in to make an impact' Â Quote Sean Miller has landed the fourth addition to Texas' 2026 recruiting class. On Monday afternoon, Austin Goosby, the No. 18 overall recruit in the national senior class, announced his commitment to Texas live on the CBS Sports College Basketball Channel. Goosby was recruited by the previous Texas staff, but once Sean Miller arrived in Austin this spring, the new head coach immediately made Goosby a priority. "I was the first 2026 recruit (Coach Sean Miller) called when he got the job," Goosby told 247Sports. "I felt that showed initiative. Knowing that I was a priority for them was big. They've been there the whole way and never gave up on recruiting me. They stayed persistent and kept the main thing the main thing." A 6-foot-5 combination guard out of Melissa (Texas) High, Goosby chose the Longhorns from a final four that also included Baylor, BYU, and Duke. "I like the feel that the coaching staff has and how they've built a strong connection," Goosby said of the Longhorns. "They have the same common goals as me. They know what my goal is, and I know what their goal is for me. They have something that they want to do, and I like the connection and bond that they have built with me." Goosby also has family ties to Texas. His older brother, Trevor Goosby, is a starting offensive lineman on the Longhorns football team. "It is definitely a cool feeling being able to go to the same school as my brother," Goosby said. "He has always made it clear that it was my decision at the end of the day. It is a cool feeling that we are both Longhorns, and that will always stick with us." Goosby will join Bo Ogden, Joe Sterling, and Coleman Elkins in Texas' 2026 recruiting class. When discussing what he plans to bring to the program, Goosby was direct in his approach towards doing whatever it takes to improve as a player and impact winning: "I am coming straight in to make an impact," Goosby said. "I will do anything to win and make a run at a championship. I also want to develop into a better player and person on and off the court." Â Edited November 17Nov 17 by Teryor
November 17Nov 17 At least basketball recruiting is going well. That’s a welcomed distraction right now. Edited November 17Nov 17 by MuellerHorn
November 18Nov 18 How much eligibility does Vulk have at center? If Miller plays it right this might be the best Texas team in a long time in 2 years. Need a few more pieces to fall and development to happen.Â
