January 2, 20196 yr I think he won himself a lottery ticket this year. Can see him going late 1st, early 2nd. A big guy like that who can bend is hard to find.
January 2, 20196 yr It seems like only yesterday he was recruiting for us on Twitter. Thanks, big man 🤘
January 2, 20196 yr Another in what's beginning to become a long list of Igbo Warriors on the Texas Dline. Frank Okam, Brian Orakpo, Alex Okafor, Sam Acho, & Charles Omenihu.

January 2, 20196 yr Omenihu's come a very, very long way... from relentlessly recruiting for us as a HS student immediately after committing, to his anger and frustration pouring out after the loss to Kansas and Charlie's dismissal, to winning Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year honours, and now to killing it in the Sugar Bowl in his final collegiate game. He's a microcosm of all the ups and downs Texas has been through since Mack left.

January 4, 20196 yr He made himself a lot of money this year. He and the two corners will be hard to replace.
January 14, 20196 yr This is just one random mock draft in a see of nonsensical mock drafts, but it does have Omenihu going at #41. Will be interesting to see where people project Omenihu. I get the feeling he'll be all over the place. https://thedraftnetwork.com/2019/01/14/solak-mock-draft-4-0/4/ Edited January 14, 20196 yr by Burt Macklin
January 14, 20196 yr If Charles tests well at that combine and pro day, I could see him going late 1st round/early 2nd round and I’ve seen that on a few mocks by analytics guys. Kiper/McShay will ignore him as he’s not SEC or buckeye, but he has a great frame and athleticism and killed it last year. He improved his draft stock 4 or 5 rounds by returning to school.
January 14, 20196 yr High praise here: https://thedraftnetwork.com/2019/01/14/charles-omenihu-primed-to-take-over-the-senior-bowl/

That makes him an every down DE who is also great pass rusher, not just a pass rushing specialist.
January 15, 20196 yr he reminds me of a bigger, more athletic Alex Oakafor. I think he'll contribute and have a solid pro career, much like Okafor. That's a reasonable floor if there are no injuries with a high ceiling if he keeps developing. Such a difference in his game from last year to this year, what's to stop him from continuing to progress?
January 15, 20196 yr I don't think I've ever seen a better single-game performance by a Texas D-lineman than Okafor's performance against Oregon State in the Alamo Bowl.
January 15, 20196 yr Omenihu has an elite frame and plus athleticism. He'll project cleanly and I think he will go higher.
January 15, 20196 yr 2 hours ago, Dr. Beeper said: Okafor was a better pass rusher in college, not to mention an all American and two time all big 12 player. He was drafted in the 4th round. Omenihu is not as athletic or good. I think you’re drastically underrating his athleticism relative to Okafor. I expect his testing at the combine will show that. He’ll go no later than the 3rd, possibly in the top 50.

Omenihu plays 4i, forcing him to work harder to get outside to speed rush.
January 15, 20196 yr Just now, Dr. Beeper said: Why was that? Serious question. And I could be wrong about their respective athleticism. I’m not basing it on what their defensive schemes called for, but based on my perception of their abilities to get to the QB. I am well aware of the differences of their respective front 7 (6). I was trying to convey that @futureman is clueless so his response to you made no sense. Apparently I didn't do a good job of it. I think Omenihu is slightly more athletic than Okafor overall and any difference in production is due to the different roles they played here at Texas.

I’m not gonna argue with stupid. bookmark this post and eat your crow after the combine. omenihu became a solid starter after 4 years in the program. he’s not close to what okafor was. good day, sir.

You can't refute anything so you make it personal. You also seem to delight in denigrating current Longhorn players and coaches. That's fine, you're off my Christmas card list. So there! January 15, 20196 yr What is the combine benchmark for Omenihu being a "good athlete"? Give me something objective.

January 15, 20196 yr Okafor had 18 TFLs and 12.5 sacks in 2012. Omenihu matched his TFLs at 18 and got 9.5 sacks starting at a position where it was tougher to penetrate into the backfield. Based on production adjusted for position, it's hard to argue that Omenihu is inferior to Okafor.
January 15, 20196 yr dak prescott had a higher completion percentage than jared goff in 2018. clear facts, dak is the more accurate passer.

This is typical of the shallow and clueless arguments you've made before. Instead of directly refuting anything I posted you drift off onto a completely different subject. So I will refute what you just posted as an example. Prescott was very average. He was the #15 rated passer in the NFL, whereas Goff was #4. And that covers a much broader sample of QB performance than mere completion percentage. That's how it's supposed to be done.
