November 24Nov 24 three star kid from central texas? yay i assume he has good fundamentals? Edited November 24Nov 24 by FORTY NINE TO ZERO
November 24Nov 24 Seriously though, he may be a great back, but what is the point of a 2nd back when you have the portal?
November 24Nov 24 Brett walker? Jet robin? This will be a good extracurricular on his med school essay.

November 24Nov 24 He spent his first two years playing for Lampasas. He’s a really good downhill runner that takes on contact willingly. Some backs try to always avoid it, but he likes to take hits. Teams need guys like this that are big and having surprising speed in the open field. Had he stayed at Lampasas the last two years for them would have looked a lot different. Good for this young man in securing a spot with Texas. He has earned this offer on the field through getting better every year. He also has a former teammate in Ty Johnson that also left Lampasas. Johnson is probably the best athlete to suit up for the Badgers since Johnny “Lam” Jones, but he transferred to Crean Lutheran in SoCal this past spring where he’s now a 4 Star WR and a top 10-15 player in California for 2027. Why Texas has not formally offered him as well is a bit of a mystery since Oregon and Georgia both have.
November 24Nov 24 I’m highly skeptical. Maybe Cooper’s deal had a clause that said slow white boys could be the second back.

November 24Nov 24 On a more serious note, RB is a position where you can actually tell from the stands whether the player has the potential to be a top college or nfl back. I’ve never seen Walker play live. I saw Burkhead back in the day and immediately knew he’d be a very good college back and possibly an nfl back. If anyone has seen him play live, I’d be interested to hear what they thought.
November 24Nov 24 Pony Express redux in Austin. We already had Eric Dickerson committed, now we just got Craig James. We have a very thin room though, needed this guy with Rickey Stewart and Jerrick Gibson bailing, and Baxter losing all of his God given athleticism and burst from injuries. If Wisner goes pro, we basically only have Simon and Clark. We need these two guys and then a proven guy in the portal. Gotta have a credible running attack next year. Getting Walker was likely low cost, and he's got the right mindset to come in and make the most of his opportunities.

His highlights are mostly him running through gigantic holes at the LOS to the end zone. I, uh, don’t know how well that skill will translate at the next level. You watch a McCaffrey high school highlight tape or a Skatteboo one and you could tell they were freaks and would be special. This guy looks like Brett Robin 2.0
November 24Nov 24 https://www.hudl.com/video/3/17898114/67115b12db5fb7dcad3cca44 I like his film. He's a legit 2nd RB take.
November 24Nov 24 Listen, if all Walker does is take Roberson's spot on special teams we're likely going to be better.
November 24Nov 24 I think I prefer Minnesotas other RB commit out of El Paso. Walker looks like a solid specimen though that wants to be here. Him and Coop are probably going to get a lot of run next season if they can pass block.
November 24Nov 24 Can we haz the center and guards that are opening the holes for him? He’s not even being touched until 10 yards past the LoS on many of those runs. It’s hard to imagine a rb not being mauled right when he takes the handoff, but I have Battered Longhorn Oline Syndrome.

November 24Nov 24 At that size might be a great short yardage back? How many times have we been stuffed on sort yardage and goal line plays running the ball?

November 24Nov 24 Aaron Jones has had a nice career with GB and Minnesota. Ok, you found the exception. The overall point still remains.

November 24Nov 24 He’s faster than I would have thought. But yeah, hard to really tell what we’re getting because…. um…. we don’t exactly have running lanes like that here.
November 24Nov 24 Look at the hudl of his OL if you want to see more than home run carries. He’s a physical runner, and he has the frame to carry more weight without losing his speed. Not much wiggle, but he is a good kid who bleeds burnt orange so he’ll be good for the locker room too. I could see a Roschon Johnson type career for him. Edited November 24Nov 24 by Atticus
