December 7Dec 7 I dont know much of anything, but you have got to get the people who run college football out of it. Points system, with classifications, 16 team playoff, keep the conferences, but if they have X amount of shitty teams, they get downgraded and we dont have to suffer their bullshit. Has to be bullet proof of any idiot human decision. Espn and fox can talk all they want, fans can cry about whatever the fuck they want, its all on points and your whining voice doesn't mean shit.

December 8Dec 8 Going to 12 was always stupid and meant we were headed to 16 sooner than later. The following format would fix the CCG mess and ensure we keep big OOC matchups. 16 team Playoff 6 auto bids. ( I would add that conferences must use CFP ranking to break ties to get the best winners) 10 at large bids All first round games at home Top 3 Conference Champs get the top 3 seeds. Historically the Big 10 and SEC are close and a 3rd conference has a top 5 ish team. Could leave it at 2 as well. The benefit of winning the Sec or Big 10 is a first round home game against the Tulanes and JMUs of the world in lieu of a first round bye and limits the negative effect waiting 3 weeks. Also rewards Texas, ND, and USC for playing big opponents early and out of conference.

December 8Dec 8 Simple is better. Just take the top 16 ranked teams. No need for auto bids as I’m sure that would encompass the necessary conference champions. If we have to throw the mid majors a bone then they can have one auto bid to the highest ranked conference champion.
December 8Dec 8 If conferences are the same as now? Top 16 in rankings go. This year’s games would be great. Total change: pair up P4 and P5 conferences. Use promotion/relegation. Bottom two schools every two years move down, top two move up. Every two years just to make sure one team doesn’t have a fluke year. Etc. This gives “small schools” a chance to take on the big boys when they are ready. If you aren’t good enough, you don’t make the playoffs. Simple as that. Top 4 from each conference/division (there would be four paired larger and smaller conferences). SEC - SBCBig10 - MACBig 12 - MWCACC - American (You’d have to add pac 12 teams somewhere) Just like the premier league in euro soccer. More or less. You cannot let small schools like JMU and Tulane in anymore. It simply is fair. If we played their schedules this year we’d be undefeated. It’s really stupid.
December 9Dec 9 I'm on board with 24 and including top 2 G5 champs (or top 6 ranked conference champs). Those last teams will usually be legitimately within, or close enough to, the top 24 that it won't be such a drastic drop from Miami to Tulane/JMU and won't exclude those in between which seems to be the biggest issue with this year's bracket. It would also make them earn the first round win to play a top 8 team. It also solves the opt-out issue since there won't be top 25 teams playing meaningless bowl games with opt-outs and gives the people more meaningful football during the holiday season. I'd also do away with the CCGs, although it might make sense for the G5 conferences to make their rivalry week slate flexible to match their top two teams for a defacto championship game and to boost their SOS to the extent possible within the G5 context.
