December 6Dec 6 The Godfather movies. Keep waiting for the right time to watch them. It's been a long wait. Band of Brothers. Never been a big fan of WW1/WW2 stuff so just never bothered to watch it when it aired.

Legit great.
December 6Dec 6 ^ Haven't either. Even looked to see if/where it was streaming recently, but then never followed up.
December 6Dec 6 You really have to watch The Big Lebowski several hundred times to appreciate it. Karate Kid? Haven’t seen a single Avatar. The one that has been on my list for forever but I just haven’t sat down with is True Romance. Oh, and Django Unchained.

It starts out looking like a regular ol cop drama, above average if you like Homicide Life on the Streets. It's probably not until halfway through season 2 that the beauty and epicness of it really starts to kick in.

I waited twenty years to watch it again. It's fucking great. Season 5 gets a little squirrelly but its still good.

The Big Lebowski is great the first time and then you watch it a bunch to catch things you missed, but also get bored at times when certain parts drag on. True Romance is overrated but worth a watch for the references it put into pop culture. Django Unchained is an all timer for combing that uncomfortable subject matter with extreme violence. I’d watch it and the gift Lebowski multiple times before True Romance.

The wire season 1 is about the streets of Baltimore, if you’re not intrigued by that premise you’ll never get into it to start. It’s a follow up to The Corners miniseries that aired on network tv by David Simon a few years prior. It’s got the cops and other parts, but season 1 is the streets. Season 2 departs heavily from that and lost a lot of viewers expecting more of season 1, but it makes sense by the end of season 2 and ties it back in. Seasons 3,4,5 explore other parts of the system tying it all together with those early storylines. You have to watch it all to truly appreciate the full storyline. Also you have to acknowledge you might not relate to many of the characters motives and struggles.

Yeah, I should have mentioned the shift to the docks and new characters that are tough to tie in initially to season 1, but it gets better and makes more sense by the end. I thought season 2 was out of place at first as well.

December 7Dec 7 Dang... It's good once it gets going. But I understand. I watched about 2 seasons of Breaking Bad and just couldn't go any further... "But did you see the uncle ring the bell?!?" Sure.Breaking Bad is the only show I can think of that every season is twice as good as the last. It’s a good show until season 3 when it becomes a great show, then in season 4 and 5 it’s arguably the best ever.
December 7Dec 7 Breaking Bad takes off when the new key characters are introduced in season 2. I enjoyed the Wire from the start. The line of “got to, it’s America man”. Watched one superhero movie in the last 15 years. Thor Ragnarok

But still, from Season 1 alone, it seems like a cop drama. And, for most of us expecting that to continue in Season 2, it was something of a shock. But then it starts to come together. Or apart.

That's when Saul shows up, right?

December 8Dec 8 I watched M for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I have to be in the right mindset to appreciate those types of films. A bottle of wine, half a gummie and a pitch black room; and I totally understand the hype.
December 8Dec 8 I just finished watching West Wing for the first time and it immediately goes in to my all time Top 5.Allison Janney is incredible.
December 8Dec 8 Should I watch The Shield? I've got some free time coming up with the holidays, so I can binge something. I think I've watched all the major prestige shows that I want to.
December 8Dec 8 Author Not sure if it’s at the level of the shows mentioned but I’ve never watched veep
