No, he's right. You're just being a bitch because we didn't make the playoff. Sark can't think like that. He needs to build a culture of winning. Beating a helmet team like Michigan helps with that, especially going into next year.

Thinking that "beating a helmet team" matters to next season or to the players is even sillier than the posts you're responding to.

I for one cannot fucking wait for the opportunity to watch Roberson get a long return called back!!

Every one of you knows that you’ll be in the game thread bitching the whole time just like the rest of us. Don’t nobody posting on this website act like you’re too cool for exhibition football.

We could probably make a long list of the multiple times this season that people on this site whined that they would no longer watch Texas football only to be right back the following week.

Prove to us that Georgia, instead of rubbing their vaginas and sulking, destroying depleted and bitch ass FSU unmercifully is wholly disconnected from the two year run they are currently on?

(of course if we lose then, yeah, it won’t have mattered)

This for sure and I bet it is not the only playoff game it outdraws either.

I wish we could agree with Sherrone Moore about play a low contact game, make it a glorified scrimmage to build for next year.

oregon fans aren't going to show up for a home game ?

Does anyone remember what happened next year when those kids grew up and came back?

We won a national championship and then went over a decade with irrelevance and coaching changes.

This is one of the dumbest non sequiturs I've ever seen only made dumber by the fact it's asking someone to prove a negative. Congrats on a remarkably terrible post.

Georgia destroyed FSU because FSU was ass and Georgia was awesome. That game had essentially nothing to do with Georgia the last two seasons, and my only point is that FSU being a helmet school had even less to do with it. They would have destroyed anyone and continued on to their 2024 and 2025 seasons.

Home playoff games last year (including TX) were very easy tickets to get. That’s a smaller stadium though.

Yeah totally get the senior of it, the last game of it…

outside of just playing for love of the game, it doesn’t really matter for returning starters. And the whole securing your spot is dumb. Spring practice and fall practice will have more impact than the bowl game

Bowl practice is going to give someone a shot to move up in the spring practice order.

Every rep counts.

There is always a camera.

If I'm a freshman or sophomore OL that didn't get to play this season, I'm kicking everyone's ass that I can, because there are spots available and I'm taking one.

Hell, if I'm a QB, I'm kicking asses today, because Arch is a headshot away from potentially clocking out. Hell, let me bust ass enough to sit his ass down at halftime for this real football game, because in January, I'll be in a vest and not even have a shot to climb the chart.

I swear, man... Some of y'all have the fucking losingest, weakest, presumptuous, entitled mentality about Texas football.

Get up and win the next rep. I don't care if it's in shorts and tshirts... COMPETE.

The days of football will end for everyone, and most of us don't even realize, "that was the last play."

Embrace the game. If you love it, you won't turn your back on it.

10 years ago, we were 5-7 and didn't even get invited to play in a bowl game.

Texas vs Michigan in 24 days. Get your fucking mind right and stand the fuck up.

Whatever. It’s more football it’s one more game to watch it’s one more game for the guys playing next year to get experience. It’s one more opportunity for development.  It’s not a bullshit game against fucking Memphis. It will build into the offseason and hopefully dipshit sark takes it seriously this time.  Instead of fucking the season over

I said it once... I just needed to recalibrate how I watch. I realized losing was feeling worse than winning was feeling good... And I watched us beat a&m... Gave zero shits about the overall outcome. Love the process.

"Nobody will gaf" but I bet we get one of the highest ratings in the post-season.

So is it closer to a JV game or an NFL preseason game?

We're in the SEC now, if we lose we can just say "we didn't want to be there anyways."

It's whatever you make it. It's the next game.

Go watch intramurals

They've always been exhibitions after the BCS was created. I still watch them and enjoy when we win. I still get annoyed when we lose.

Um, were 08/09 irrelevant??

So in the last 2 years, SEVEN of our games were against Georgia, Ohio State, and Michigan.

This. This is a game against a team in Michigan that is looking for some positive momentum. They arent gonna lay down. Moore is on the verge of losing his job and needs any bit of recruiting momentum he can muster. They are a wounded animal.

Ah, the perfect Surly response….insults, Latin phrase and the “I’m right because I say so” conclusion.

All I’m saying is that they did the “we didn’t want to be there” (allegedly) followed shortly by showing up motivated and ready to play. And the latter seems to be more of an indicator of a championship culture.  Not literally saying that winning the dance caused their current success. But it damn sure didn’t hurt them.

It's the pre-spring game.

I am looking forward to seeing guys like Townsend, Lance Jackson, Kobe Black, Lockett, Sharma, Cruz, etc. get a good amount of snaps

Spring games aren't guaranteed under Sark. This could be our spring game

Sucks missing the playoffs, but this game may be better than most of the highly regarded first round playoff games.

Win 10. Rank in the final top 10. Go practice being winners so you know what it looks like, instead of laying down to fucking Florida.

agree that this is what Sark wants.  not sure what players will care.

Georgia wasn’t supposed to give a fuck about drawing a deadbeat FSU team in 2023. That didn’t stop them from absolutely skull fucking them. Good on Kirby for (finally) setting the example on the proper way to react after getting left out.

You mean the Florida State team that legitimately thought they would be in the 4-team playoff??

That skullfucking was predictable as hell.

Throw in Bama twice before joining the SEC too - two seasons prior.

Hook’em!!!

More Texas football? Sign me the fuck up! We missed CFP, but whatever. We still get one last game before 2026, and honestly, I'm pretty hyped about beating Michigan again. Let's see the young players ball out and get ahead. I hope everyone plays, but I also won't begrudge anyone who sits out.

Like someone said above— one day football will be over, and we'll think back and say "that was the last snap we'll ever see." Man, I still like bowl games because 1) once February hits, we have to wait until June for real news, and 2) Shit, it's football, yo! We'll all be dying just to watch Indiana St take on Austin Peay on Aug 28th or some shit.

Everyone on this board will watch this game and if they say otherwise they are lying

Hopefully they come out with some longhorn shaped cheez-its for this game. What could be tastier?

QB's in red jerseys or wear flags for this one.

It was better than the alternative of playing Iowa in Tampa, which Vandy is now doing.

We should keep missing SECCG and playoffs so we don’t have to play GA/OSU anymore than we already do

Yall remember when Casey Thompson went wild in the Alamo Bowl and we thought he’d be the next great Texas QB? lol

Just let our young players get reps. I’ll start drinking around that time too.
