No more special preferential treatment for you! Exactly. I just lost any respect I had for Freeman. All of it. Canceling because you lost a CFP bid? You don't want 3 more weeks of practice? This is why they get complacent and lose to the Aggys and Cristobal's of the world. That's not even a hard fucking schedule, but they make it harder on themselves for simply canceling extra practices. Maybe, I dunno, join a real conference? You know, like everybody else who is in the CFP?
December 7Dec 7 The players who are returning should give a shit. All except Colin Simmons, dude doesn't need to play in a meaningless exhibition game and risk losing next season like Jaylon Smith. Every player who is going to the draft should just be starting working out for the combine now.

Do you feel if a team like Texas doesn’t make the playoffs they should not participate in a bowl? Do you feel this way for all teams who don’t make the playoffs? They all should opt out? All to say "we beat Michigan" What's the difference between this and the game before which they could have torn their ACL/MCL? Nothing. You.play to get better, and sometimes shit happens. We played with 1 RB last year and still made it. We played with 1 1/2 this year and we lost to Florida. Everything isn't linear. Injuries happen and they suck. That's why if they choose not to play (which is unlikely) I don't begrudge them for it. They have a future in the NFL. But what about the younger players? You don't think 3 extra weeks of practice and one more game will help them? You can't play and be scared. You're gonna get hit. Every time you practice, play, whatever, there's that chance it could ruin football for you. It happens. Baxter is a good case to look at. He was on his way to murder people and he tore every ligament is body had to offer in his knee during spring practice. He came back, he's not at full strength, but he wants that chance that's in front of him.

December 7Dec 7 I agree that the bowl game is beneficial for the roster but should also be treated like an exhibition on game day. It's Sarkisian's job to use the practices wisely and keep the team engaged. In the transfer portal and NIL era there should be a lot of benefit to evaluating the roster for 2026. Which is exactly why during the game the starters should get a quarter plus a drive before backups start getting snaps against a talented opponent. That is not something you can replicate in spring or fall practice. But, and this is the key because Sarkisian has sucked at this, once the younger players being evaluated are in the game the intensity has to stay elevated. They should be playing to win not just bleed clock. We have no idea what the heck our backups are capable of late in seasons because they are only allowed to run vanilla plays/schemes.
