Take a brand that can generate revenue/dividends forever and pull ALL that back to a 5-8 year run. Leave the husk along the road. Move on to the next.

You don’t under any circumstances, take money from these people. Once again this conference shows how broke most of these schools are. You’ll be able to link your CC to place a prop on whether you have to crack the seal before midway through the seconds quarter. Diamond Piss Partners enjoy line cutting privileges and priority access when the other team’s band is playing.

State law notwithstanding at the moment, it’ll get changed and all those puritanical clowns will be putting down five or six 15 dollar tall boys before blacking out in the 3rd quarter.
December 9Dec 9 Dumb question…. If this can happen to a public university like Utah because of brain dead board decisions, what’s preventing it from happening to Texas?

Texas athletics or the University do not need money and are running arguably better than any other university already. There is no advantage to it under any circumstance and if some PE firm wants to light money on fire and pay 100B for the Texas brand which is over 10x the value of the current highest sports franchise on planet earth, Texas would simply refuse because they have nothing to spend 100B on.

None of that matters. More money is more money. People who base their entire worth on having more of it, even at a school like Texas, will take it. This is just some simple human psychology and how greed will inevitably lead to Texas doing this. It won’t be right now or even in the near future, but as sure as the sun rises everyday it’ll happen. Aggy is the one I am eagerly waiting on with this. They’ll take the money and try to make the Tackle Box seat 200,000 fans.

December 9Dec 9 Aggy would take a PE deal in a heart beat then brag about it making them the richest program in the universe. Although UT would still be worth 3x their value, they wont ever fucking shut up about it. Stupid sips dont know how tp do a business like us ags! Derp, mmm, slurp, furk.

Jesus tap dancing Christ you live in a state filled with clowns in positions of power that will always want more money. People see the words "private equity" and they think "Ooohhh, fancy finance stuff. This must be a smart move." It's a public university. There are no hard assets changing hands here. The PE firm is projecting future cash flows and doing a present value calculation at a (userous, probably) discount rate. The University is after a quick payday today in exchange for giving up future media rights/bowl share/operating income. Maybe they have a large capital plan they need to fund, but I can't imagine the loan rates for those projects would be nearly as bad as what the PE firm will use to value down their offer. But, hey, what do I know?

Texas has about the healthiest finances around. The move to the SEC was our big move to leverage our brand into higher funding. I would be shocked if we ever went down this stupid road.
