The fall guy for Flood? Had to sacrifice someone on that side of the ball.

Neither does our rushing total for 2025.

One year. Ouch. That doesn't look good on a resume.

Correct. The aggy game was iirc the first time all year we had a rusher make 100 yards (Wisner had 155 yds) in a game all year. Not great bob. But happy for Wisner! But not having a RB not break 100 in a single game until our last regular season game is dogshit.

am I the only one who thought we can run the ball we just don't do it. like gameplan to not run the ball.

We only established the run against OU and Aggy for some reason. Not sure why we refuse to do it against other teams.

we ran on Georgia then just stopped. I was yelling to run the ball all 3 downs at times even if we punt. 2 runs for 8 yds then 3rd and 2 tackle for loss -10 yards. that's what it felt like early in that game.

I think that is somewhat true, but it’s obvious things behind the scenes were messed up. Maybe there was a lot of discontentment in that group. I’m sure we will hear more.

Hard to establish the run when you are always getting blasted at or behind the line of scrimmage.

Well Sark calls the plays so I never understood him ever saying in a post game presser we should have run more. That’s entirely under his control. I get the RB situation was not great this year and now a coach has lost his job bc of it but Steve bares some responsibility for it too. He abandoned the run. Players run the plays that are called. Steve calls the plays. Not that hard to figure out. The Oline wasn’t great this year and we failed to plug the proper holes with the portal as well. There is some blame to pass around but the RB coach is now gone regardless.

Maybe what he meant was if anyone on this team could learn to block we would run more, but our green QB is getting pummeled.

100 percent. I just always assumed it was sark slowing the run game down. he got to cute this year with passing the ball. I think fumbling issues gave him the excuse even tho he didn't directly throw anyone under the bus in public. wisner is not a fumbler but can't take all the snaps. next year with oline more experienced and overall more experienced offense I bet they run the ball.

@RGBIII said in the recruiting forum version of this thread that the RB room hated Scott

I mentioned this in the sticky UGA game film thread, but I think since in those games, the run game still depends on Wisner breaking the first tackle, Sark pusses out against UGA OSU type teams thinking he'll bank the success and bets it won't be repeated.  So he digs in on the pass game..

Bring in an OC, even if Sark still does some play calling, this is the only way Flood should be allowed to stay. This is not hard.

Hire Jabbar Juluke and have him bring Baugh with him

falling on the knife for the play calling

I do not think the RB coach that doesn’t really do anything is the fall guy for our offensive woes.

Yeah probably.  We couldn't block for shit and Wisner was the only rb who looked competent outside of flashes from Simon...who then never saw the field again.

Wisner can also only really run outside which is a bit of an issue

Had the same exact thoughts on the run game vs Georgia

The Akina hate is stupid and propped up by casuals

Akina is done, game has passed him by. Will be announced in the next few days.

Sark is a former BYU quarterback from the WAC in the 90’s.  It’s probably an internal struggle for him to not call 50 pass plays in a row.

That totally lines up with the same Sark who would tout that he had a 1000 yard rusher every season he coached up until this year. But carry on.

Akina has been gone. Players hated Scott, Wisner may come back now, no guarantee but he was definitely gone if Scott stayed. Will be a bunch more coaches gone in the next couple days on both sides of the ball. Akina is guaranteed gone. I believe Jackson is technically not under contract after the bowl game and won’t be renewed. They wanted a soft landing spot for Flood but that’s gonna be the one to watch honestly. Jabbar Juluke is the strong favorite to replace Scott, will be interesting to see Plonsky watch him pimp slap someone on the field and give him the go ahead but here we are. Zero idea if he is bringing his RB with him but we feel very good about bringing in another SEC back through the portal… I can guarantee that our RB next year will be a DUDE and behind a completely rebuilt interior OL

Sounds like Sark is doing everything this board wanted aside from play calling duties.

This is a good start.  If Flood is flushed out, then giddy up!    Next fall might actually be a lot of fun.

Because neither team has much gap control. They stunt and blitz and all kinds of “exotic” shit leaving holes for guys as shifty as Wisner - make the guy a yard behind the LOS miss and there’s a gaping hole for him, 9 yards or 36 yards later, first down!

He ran inside on aggy for 52 yards to open up the second half.
