There is some online chatter/speculation/etc (possible/hopefully bullshit) that their son murdered them. Certainly hope none of it is true and he’s fine. If not, RIP and damn did he contribute.

Damn. Just watched the Spinal Tap sequel this morning.

Yea seeing LAPD homicide involved in the investigation of the as of yet unnamed people found dead in Rob Reiner’s home that just happen to match the ages of Reiner and his wife.

so yea RIP Meathead.  You made some banger movies.

Just imagine, 100 year old Dick Van Dyke and 99 year old Mel Brooks have to bury their best friend's son.

And which omits This is Spinal Tap and The American President.

And let’s not forget all of his great acting roles. This is the first/most recent that jumps to mine

"This pretentious ponderous collection of religious rock psalms is enough to prompt the question, 'What day did the Lord create Spinal Tap, and couldn't he have rested on that day too?'"

Shit Sandwich

Given the history of Spinal Tap drummers, uh, in the past, do you have any fears, uh, for your life?
When I did join, you know, they did tell me - they kind of took me aside and said, "Well, Mick. It's, you know, it's like this..." And it did kind of freak me out a bit. But it can't always happen to every, can it? I mean, really...
Because the law of averages...

Yeh.

I appreciate all his works but this is his Masterpiece.

The Courtroom Scene will never be forgotten, but this is my favorite part of A Few Good Men:

Gonna say the same, but Surly and all.

we're not talking about some 2nd team aggy DB that got caught with his cock in the ass of random livestock.  We're talking about Hollywood Royalty that brought so much joy to so many.

  • immamac changed the title to Rob Reiner found stabbed

this.

also “the sure thing” was part of that run, and is a classic as well.

this really sucks and seems senseless.

I’m pretty sure I don’t want to know what the thread title was…

I go back to the All in the Family Days….this was TV Royalty….what a damn shame

It appears their son, Nick, killed them.

Doesn't matter, internet gonna pin it on JFK's killers.

Addicts will hurt, if not kill loved ones, if they don’t get the money they need for drugs. I’ve had stories in my family of the addict literally saying, “don’t make me hurt you,” to the person they love the most.

That was an interesting podcast by Reiner.

I will always love that it was Rob’s romance with Michele (RIP to both 🌹) that inspired him to change the ending of When Harry Met Sally so the two characters would get together in the end. I cannot find any humor in any of this and I know it’s surly but damn. And if it’s true that their own son whom they helped in every way for years murdered them both with a knife… 😔 damnit.

Terrible.  He had a revival with me in The Bear.

Oh shit that’s right he was Ibrahaim’s “coach”

"Chris did get out. He enrolled in the college courses with me and, although, it was hard, he gutted it out like he always did. He went on to college and, eventually, became a lawyer. Last week, he entered a fast food restaurant. Just ahead of him, two men got into an argument. One of them pulled a knife. Chris, who had always made the best peace, tried to break it up. He was stabbed in the throat. He died almost instantly.

The Writer: [the Writer typing on his computer] Although I hadn't seen him in more than ten years, I know I'll miss him forever."

Damn terrible tragedy.

i never met rob reiner but i had a short conversation with him once in the castle rock elevator where i interned in the summer of 1998.

there were several celebrities who had deals with them back then, and they all had offices in the building, but most didn't really use them. i worked for meg ryan's production company and only met her once right at the end. i never saw billy crystal. i saw reiner a few times but had never spoken to him.

then one day i got into the elevator which looked empty but he was in it. he recognized me from being around the bullpen - it wasn't that big of an area. i looked at him and he looked at me and then he asked "what's the yogurt flavor today?" i said, "i think it's chocolate chip".

there was one flavor of frozen yogurt everyday in the commissary, but i didn't always go down there and i'm not sure i had that day. he looked at me and sighed, then said, "it was chocolate chip yesterday."

i wish i had been able to say something clever, but instead i shrugged and said nothing and got out at the next stop.

rip to a legend.

With all due respect to Rob Reiner, those words are Stephen King's or pretty damn close, as are the final ones.

"I never had any friends like I did when I was 12.  Jesus, does anyone?"

But all credit to Reiner for using the novella as the screenplay.
