Are we sure he was fired and it’s wasn’t that PK wanted to go to Oregon or somewhere else in PAC NW?

That Florida defensive gameplan by PK was criminal...

Well Boom should know how to scheme against UGA. I liked Pete though. Bitter sweet change. His Defenses helped the Horns stay above water while the offense was sinking.

I am having a hard time processing all this, all I can hope that is it works. I find it sus that PK was fired. I would like to know why that happened and Flood keeps his job. As others have said PK has bailed out Sark’s bottom third of the entire FBS red zone offense the past three years. Wtf! 😳

hope it works 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

Not that it matters a ton but Muschamp is also 5 years younger than PK. PK turns 60 before next season.

Not to generalize, because every man is different, but I noticed pretty big changes in men physically and mentally between the ages of 55 and 60. I do think it makes a difference often.

Offense is the issue.  This is stupid.

Yes it is. FWIW I had a few people privately say that PK was tired of Sark’s shit but I don’t really know what that means. Something is rotten here and yes I know I been up Sark’s ass since the Florida loss.

Sark probably feels like he needs an enforcer coach so he can play good cop, which he is much better suited for. Someone to chew some ass when needed. Not that Sark is unwilling to be tough but it's not really his style

Related, Muschamp also should help work the SEC refs

I dig working the ref angle bc someone needs to do it. Plus Muschamp has been a HC and This helps in that regard if Sark decides he ain’t never hiring an OC. But big personalities also. Everyone is both kinda taken aback confused and hoping like hell it’s awesome and works like a mofo.

Lateral to upgrade hire at DC for a coordinator that’s been here 5 years: rotten and suspiciousness afoot

I’ve watched many friends get new knees, new hips, new wives, and lose interest in their careers, among other things.

I am praying it works Hank. He hasn’t been purely a DC Since 2015 and he has been an analyst with Georgia the last 3 years but he hasn’t coached in about 5 years and yes we have great history with him and I want it to work. But I saw no reason for PK to be fired when it was Sark’s offense that PK routinely bailed out the past three years .

Boom was roommates with Kirby and Bobo at JAWJA FFS, so he better fucking know!

He was promoted to CoDC at UGA (when Lanning left to take over Oregon) in 22/23 with #5 and #9 defenses and 2 NCs.

On February 3, 2021, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart announced that Muschamp had been hired as a defensive analyst. According to Smart, Muschamp would work with the defense and "help coach the coaches".[32] However, Muschamp assumed the mantle of special teams coordinator prior to the start of the 2021 season after Scott Cochran, the incumbent special teams coordinator, stepped away for health-related reasons.

Following the departure of Dan Lanning to become the head coach of the Oregon Ducks, Muschamp was promoted to co-defensive coordinator of the Bulldogs, alongside Glenn Schumann. On January 10, 2022, the Bulldogs won the National Championship against the Alabama Crimson Tide.[33] He won his second title with the Georgia coaching staff, and third overall, when they defeated TCU in the National Championship.[34]

I don’t have to like him. I want him to win bc I’m proud of my school. I will never ever root against my school nor root for them to lose merely because I think Sark is a shit person,. I want to win.

The timing of this is sus, as the kids say. I didn't know there was any type of friction between Sark and PK. If I'm ESPN, fuck making a 30 for 30 about Michigan. Do the whole football year. Sharrone, the Ohio coach, this, shit CFP committee reasoning. This is just astounding PK was fired and I feel like this is out of nowhere

You're being delulu.

It looks like some people here are having trouble processing information with their brain. So I'll try to dumb it down.

brooklyn-nine-jake-peralta.gif

It's not an either/or situation. This isn't binary. You can have an offense that needs improvement, while also having a defense that needs improvement. Stuff can be two things.

We just hired a Defensive Coordinator. Sark will address the offensive issues by hiring coaches on the offensive side of the ball. We've already made three major staff changes (new RB Coach, new DC, and TBD DB coach) two weeks before our 2025 season has even ended.

The panty twisting here by some is incredibly pathetic.

But Hank, I want Flood fired now!

Or maybe he did.

We don’t know either way. We DO know that Sark reached out to Boom before he tried to hire Stoops or hiring PK. So if he got a sniff that Muschamp wanted to get back into coaching he might have moved PK to hire Muschamp.

We just fired the best coach on the team. With that said, Muschamp is a fire breather who can better complement Sarks reserved tendencies. And I love me some Coach Blood.

The days or so between Greg Davis being fired and Muschamp being hired away were some of the best of my life.

I dont know what to feel.

Yes I’m a piece of unhinged shit. I have friends who know him well over a decade and they think he’s a morally bankrupt. If this fails and Sark does flame out I will collect all the tears of the idiot worshippers of sark and fill a lake with them and lure people to it.

it’s amazing how much it bothers people that some of us just don’t like the man BUT also want him to win. Why it bothers people i dont know. I want him to succeed and I also think he’s a morally bankrupt asshole. Both things can be true. But he better win.

Which game was it this year where the commentators were flabbergasted by our DBs 10 yard cushions? That was fun

1 through 10 I’m pretty sure.

My thoughts on this hire is that perhaps Mack had something to do with it. Also, I can see why bringing the co-DC from UGA might be help with understanding how they had been so successful in shutting our offense down the last two years.

While I can appreciate the reason for hiring Muschamp, I don't understand the rationale for the PK firing. Did Sark blame him for our defensive breakdown against Florida that kept us out of the plagoffs? Was there some finger pointing at each other? Who knows?

It's literally the exact same talking points Ketch used on the OB late afternoon livestream. OTF & IT are positive about this move, while OB came off as pessimistic & less informed about the move.  Ketch downplayed Muschamp as just an Analyst at UGA, while Muschamp's Wikipedia resume clearly lists him as the co-DC on '22 & '23 UGA teams. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the folks being negative got their info from OB.

No I get my information elsewhere and I did poor research, I don’t like OB at all and don’t read it and don’t subscribe to it and barely remember they exist.

@lilMAC25 beat me to it...

Muschamp was Georgia assistant  2021, 2022 and 2023.

Bulldawgs won National Championships in 2021 & 2022.

Why would Mack have anything to do with it given Sark wanted Muschamp from the beginning as his DC and thinks highly of him? You guys need to move past your battered Longhorn syndrome from the Mack days.

FIFY

Defense could be better, it wasn’t good enough by definition because we didn’t win in close games against Georgia and Ohio state last year and under performed at times this year. The biggest hurdle is the last one, ruthlessly upgrade.

if he upgraded the D there’s no way he isn’t upgrading more of the O coaches too.  Maybe not an OC play caller but I’d bet really good money flood is out.

Yep, forgot about Meatchicken’s cheating championship

Should have been fired at halftime of the semifinal last season.

Yet our offense is the side that pissed away the game in the 4th when it counted

Because this is the second hire we made from the Mack era. I forgot about Sark wanting to hire Muschamp in the first place, so maybe you're right.

Ketch is such an idiot that if he’s against the Muschamp hire I would bet my life savings this will work out perfectly.

Doesn't mean the defense is perfect and doesn't have issues.

I don't really get the logic that bigger issues existing on offense mean complacency and neglect is a good move for the rest of the team.
