Probably his most recognizable song outside of Texas:

I loved "Texas".  I never knew "Fool" was the same guy.  VERY different sounds.  RIP, Mr. Rea.

Same here. And 'Road to Hell' will always bring me to a specific time/place in the early '90s in Austin.

I'm assuming a lot of cigarettes between those albums to roughen up his voice, but I never expected him to be behind such a '70s mellow pop breakup song like "Fool."

Well, I got a little brother, several meters high

Yeah, he's built just like a quarterback and he swears he'll testify

He says he's been to Texas and that's the only place to be

Big stakes, big cars, no trouble here

Yeah, that's the place for me

I'm going to Texas

RIP. Always loved that track. Although I always heard it as "seven meters high". I guess it's several?

Timely to see this thread, my twin brother texted me this morning with the news.

R.I.P. Chris!

That is a great recruiting song.

Have always loved that.
