Monday at 08:28 PM2 days Yeah, that move makes zero sense for the majority of Bear fans. Unless they just want to die instead of watch the Bears.

Seems like the Bears announce a decision ( directly south of the current stadium, Arlington Heights, etc...) every few months. 2 minutes ago, Pato del Muerto said: Right across is Gary, right? Its been probably 15 years, but when I would visit my buddies in Chicago, we'd occasionally visit the shitass casinos in Gary to fuck around for a few hours before we headed back to Chicago and the bars. Those were some depressing places. I see they now have a hard rock casino, for some reason.
Monday at 08:34 PM2 days The Bears are threatening to move the team to Indiana to try to leverage more money out of the taxpayers of Chicago and Illinois. The taxpayers of Chicago and Illinois are likely to call their bluff because there ain't shit or fuck in Gary/Northwest Indiana.

Monday at 08:41 PM2 days Popular Post Getting rid of Arrowhead (and Soldier Field for that matter) for some indoor stadium where they can have boat shows in January sucks.

Before the days of google maps and GPS on your phone, I was on a business trip in the area, and we had a visit scheduled with a large industrial distributor located in Gary. We were coming down from Chicago, and got lost in Gary so we pulled over and called their office. When we gave them our cross streets, their response was lock your doors and don't stop even if you get a flat. Their facility was surrounded by 10 foot walls and razor wire, lulz. It was sketchy, but it was also too f'n cold out for anybody to be out fucking around. Apocalyptic is an accurate description of some of the urban blight in that area.
Monday at 08:45 PM2 days When I was in Iowa everyone seemed to be very loyal to the Chiefs instead of the Vikings, Bears, or Packers. Not sure why that was the case

Don't forget Mile High is going away too Because indoor stadium = concerts, CFP games, NCAA final four games, etc.

Add in the rusting hulks of abandoned buildings and I'm waiting for Tina Turner to pop out and chase me down to the Thunderdome.

Monday at 08:57 PM2 days 4 minutes ago, Vic Mackey said: The links I read didn't mention exactly which city but I did just see this posted lol Well, Ft Wayne is much closer to Indianapolis and about the same distance to Detroit as Chicago. This feels like Bears ownership pulling a flex to get the city to fund a new stadium, which is appropriate given the graft that is Chicago politics. I suggest the Bears organization look into kidnapping and/or hiring some drug mules.

Not sure why that was the case I'm not trying to be a dick, but just look at a map. Iowa's largest metro is an hour closer to KC than it is to anywhere else with pro sports. I live up on the Minnesota border, and not far from Wisconsin either. Vikes and Pack are basically tied for local favorite team, with Bears and Chiefs tied for 2nd. If you get closer to Chicago, you see more Bears, and closer to KC you see more Chiefs. The recent success has lead to a lot of young kids statewide being Chiefs fans. When I was growing up they were #4 in my school, despite being closer than the Green Bay or Chicago. Edited Monday at 09:14 PM2 days by Al_4_ISU

A steel mill or two have come back online, but way smaller scale than previously. If they could get some lake front property that would be great, but most is occupied by mills and/or parks IIR.
