Tuesday at 01:06 AM2 days One last tuneup before what could be a long SEC season starts. Game on SEC+ and using Craig Way for audio.
Tuesday at 01:10 AM2 days Author Texas with a 11-5 lead at the first media break. Pretty much the same as the prior games like this have been.
Tuesday at 01:12 AM2 days its weird listening to radio call with TV for basketball especially but better this than fucking Galindo...
Tuesday at 01:17 AM2 days This team can't shoot from outside or get to the rim. That narrows our options.
Tuesday at 01:17 AM2 days Was wondering why we had so many backups on so early in the game but then realized the game is almost 25% over and it’s just the score that looks like the game just began
Tuesday at 01:18 AM2 days Author Jacking up threes and missing most. Vok with of course an early foul so no inside game. Result is a 14-10 Texas lead with 11:32 to play in the first half.
Tuesday at 01:25 AM2 days Author Mark takes it to the hole a couple of times and Vok back in the game. Texas with a 26-18 lead at the 8:28 mark first half. Top notch guards are going to work the Texas defense off the dribble in SEC play. Edited Tuesday at 01:27 AM2 days by NBHorn7
Tuesday at 01:28 AM2 days When Pope is hot, it certainly helps. Not sure why we can't run plays to get Heide similar looks from the arc. Edit: Now we get him two good looks, and he misses both. Sigh. Edited Tuesday at 01:30 AM2 days by Gut Wagon
Tuesday at 01:38 AM2 days Author Texas turns the ball over repeatedly and its ugly at Moody. Texas leads 34-28 with 3:39 to go in the first half. Swain seems to forget he has four teammates on the floor.
Tuesday at 01:39 AM2 days 3 minutes ago, dcar00 said: swain is just a disaster on a break. Pass the fucking ball. He had a runner wide open.
Tuesday at 01:47 AM2 days I don't think we're making the tourney this year. And by tourny, I mean the NIT.
Tuesday at 01:49 AM2 days Author Half comes to an end and Texas leads 40-34. Maryland-ES is 6/12 from behind the arc and Texas is 4/15. Pope has all four and is 4/8 on treys missing his last two. Watching these kinds of games has just become a beating.
Tuesday at 01:53 AM2 days awful...Nobody seems to be enjoying the game … everyone just going through the motions … zero inspiration … minimal competitive fire I hope these fans that showed up are getting a good holiday discount on concessions
Tuesday at 01:55 AM2 days Virginia recently beat these guys by 24. that is the min I'd be looking for. the zone has us flummoxed and MDES has made some ridiculous 3's.

And Swain's less by the week.

Guess this is the new normal
Tuesday at 02:23 AM2 days this is gonna be a BS call. the guy just turns and shoves Traore and then Traore tries to fight through the 2 guys basically shoving them.
Tuesday at 02:26 AM2 days this is just bullshit. the MDES guys are just starting wrestling matches with Traore and he keeps getting called.
Tuesday at 02:31 AM2 days Author MDES is certainly better than LeMoyne, that is of course a low bar. Texas going inside more and has slowed down the threes from MDES. Texas leads 66-51 at the 9:39 media timeout in the second half.
Tuesday at 02:31 AM2 days I like Wilcher's game more than I expected to. And Swain's less by the week. I think miller encouraged Swain that he’d be the go to guy and have a lot of liberty to create his own shots … time to reel him in now that he’s forcing things and kind of ignoring the teammate with a better shot more than he should
Tuesday at 02:36 AM2 days Author Texas stretches the lead out to 71-51 with 7:45 to go. Continue to get the ball down low and MDES looks like they are kind of gassed at this point.
Tuesday at 02:48 AM2 days Author That might be up there as one of the worst dunk attempts. Heide will not win many high jump competitions.

Physically a mismatch for most guys he's faced so far, but lackadaisical for long stretches on both ends of the floor. Not the composed player we seemed to see in Maui. I could say much the same about Mark's focus.
Tuesday at 02:56 AM2 days Author You have to give #23 a tech for that shove in the back along with the Texas foul.
Tuesday at 02:59 AM2 days I thought it was funny that Eddie thought this crew wouldn't give Vok a tech for the light shove. such horseshit. MDES was the team that started the wrestling matches in the 1H and we responded in the 2H and then MDES started bitching when we did. the refs lost control in the 1H when they let MDES do whatever the fuck they wanted to down low.
Tuesday at 03:11 AM2 days Author Texas again in the second half realizes the benefits of getting the ball inside against a team you are more athletic and bigger than. Texas wins 94-71. Vok will definitely lead the team in free throws this season if he can stay out of foul trouble. He needs to shoot a little better from the line. He would also benefit by bulking up with a little more good weight and muscle with all the banging he takes and gives out.

Tuesday at 04:13 AM2 days Pope always has a good game when I’m in the building. Last year he had the 40 pointer when I was there.
Tuesday at 11:49 AM1 day 6 hours ago, David Dennison said: We are going to lose so many games. The bigger picture is that this is a wasted year. There is no core of young talent that you can build on. There are zero players getting minutes that look like they could start on a top 20 team. The only two who might get minutes on a good team are Matas and Wilcher. The guys redshirting must be total projects to not be able to crack this rotation. So we are looking at a total redo in year 2.

I'm thinking we won't see very much improvement until we get a true PG. Wilcher actually does a decent job initiating the offense, but I fear that in SEC play all our guards are going to get pressured a good bit, and the lane will be clogged with more athletic big men than we've faced. But I'm far more hopeful than I was with RT or Shaka.

Tuesday at 07:15 PM1 day I've been curious how a top 50 prospect can't get run on this team, but whatever. Vok is the best I've ever seen at getting his arm pulled by the opponent. It's like an art. There was a stretch in the second half where I think he got his arm pulled 5 times in 2 minutes. We hit more free throws and this is a 30 point game.
