you may see a brief "checking if you are human" popup when you come to the site for the first time from here on - I added something to keep the bots out and get them into a honeypot of scraping worthless garbage.

Just saw it, and I can confirm Im not a bot!!

What’s the error?

Try closing the window and opening it up again.

I did - even restarted my chrome for an update. I can access it on Edge. Work security setting?

do you have some plugin disabling cookies? I mean that's a pretty specific error lol.

On Chrome, I'm getting the same error page and message as Js1. "Your browser is configured to disable cookies. Anubis requires cookies for the legitimate interest of making sure you are a valid client."

I've used Chrome with this site for...forever, without issue, and my Chrome settings have not changed. Maybe Chrome did an update that affected cookie handling. I'm also using Adblock Plus, but that also has not caused problems for me on Surly before.

At least Edge seems to be working OK...

Edit: Okay got it to work again on Chrome by using google to search for a direct link to the surly forums page, instead of typing surlyhorns in the URL bar and letting it autocomplete. Maybe some kind of cache issue. So please disregard for me.

do you whitelist surly on adblock plus?

I can change the cookie name and see if that helps circumvent?

I’m getting the same message on chrome. Cookies are enabled. I’ve not changed any settings. Never had an issue accessing the site using chrome before. Restarted my computer. Going to https://surlyhorns.com and still get the error.

Works on other browsers though.

Still didn't work, but I went directly to one of the boards and that worked. I went to https://www.surlyhorns.com/board/forum/17-cloak-room/ So maybe just an issue with the homepage?

After you are in does it go away?

Try the above.

yes, i can browse like normal after going directly to a specific board, but if I try and just go straight to surlyhorns homepage I get the same issue. I can use the workaround and am OK with it, but new users or users that haven't figured it out would have a problem.

I can't recreate it in Chrome though I saw it earlier and thought the site was down. I just jumped over to Edge to try it and I saw the Oops! girl for just a split second before it redirected to the proper page. I then tried it in incognito mode and again saw it for just a split second and saw some language about bot checking. I cannot recreate it anymore in either browser.

Yeah it pops up while doing the check. The cookie error is weird though.

Could be a www vs non www thing. I'll change an option and see if it goes away.

I'm getting the same error when trying to go to the homepage. I've tried the www route and the non-www route. But when I paste a link to a specific board, it's fine. I'm in Safari. Firefox works fine. Cookies are enabled for surly in Safari, so I don't understand what's happening.

Can you paste the whole URL and/or screenshot it. I think you are going to a non https version what's that triangle in the address bar?
