When did the prankster finally come out of the closet?

The last NFL coach to try to wear a suit/jacket and tie was Mike Nolan with the 49ers way back in the mid aughts, as he wanted to honor his dad and guys like Landry. The league clothing contract was with Reebok at the time, and they finally agreed to let him wear a Reebok-created look for a couple games a year. Wikipedia even has a blurb about it in Nolan’s page:

Suit issue

[edit]

Following his hiring by the 49ers, Nolan asked the NFL for permission to wear a suit and tie on the sidelines as a tribute to his father. The league initially denied Nolan's request because of the contract it had with Reebok for its coaches to wear team-logo attire, a ruling that was changed during Nolan's second season as coach. In the new NFL policy, coaches were allowed to wear a full suit for only two home games per season. The suits were designed, marketed and labeled under the Reebok corporation. Nolan debuted the suit in a game at home against the Seattle Seahawks on November 19, 2006. A day later, Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio sported another Reebok suit on Monday Night Football.

After further lobbying by Nolan, the NFL and Reebok reached an agreement to allow suits to be worn at all home games in the 2007 season.[7]

After his firing from the 49ers, however, he has simply worn team-issued apparel in all subsequent coaching jobs.

Some good nuggets on McAfee’s show on potential replacements for openings. I can totally see Raheem back on McVay’s staff and pretty sure Mike McCarthy will be getting a HC job. Mendoza about to give an interview on the show. Hope he will be ok with being a Raider if that’s the way they decide to go or if not trade the pick. Some of these teams I hope (Clowns, Jets, Raiders) get their franchise guy before Arch enters the draft. For some reason I see him destined to be a Jet but the Rams are laser focused on him.

Browns set on keeping their DC. That’s the scuttlebutt and I cannot see any of the below GM candidates keeping McDaniel. So Sark to the Dolphins (try to recreate Shanabananahan in the aggregate at Miami?)

So far all the hire/fire trackers think McEmo in Miami is safe as a kitten and getting a new GM to help support him seems to be what all the sports outlets are saying. Pete Carroll should just transition into television. His conspiracy theories alone might make him interesting. It’s hard to believe he is 74 he don’t look it. Or act it. In far better shape than dudes in their 50’s.

Zac Taylor says he keeping Al Golden as DC. Seems smart.

I want Burrow to demand to be traded. Act schizo or something. Find an organization who won’t do this shit to you. Yes let’s reward one of the worst DCs in the league. And also continue to neglect the Oline sounds awesome.

It’s mind bottling that the Giants are keeping Joe Schoen. Mara has lost his mind.

They have been a dumpster fire franchise since winning it all in the 2011 season. 2 playoff appearances total, 1 single wild card win, I think. I have no idea what their direction is.

He’s way preoccupied with having cancer. Keeping Joe a GM who allowed HCs to actively attempt to murder Daniel Jones and Saquon is not at all cool. Dart is one leap for a first down away from IR. It’s amazing to me the historically most powerful city has two shit franchises. They seem to want to lose. All I ever hear is this QB or that QB cannot handle the NYC media. Nah. What they cannot handle is being killed on the field by ineptly run teams.

USC thought they’d get him instead and weren’t upset about PK and Stanford

We were just talking about coaches wearing ties.

Mara let it happen, so he needs to sit in his own shit for a while. The Saquon discussion was evidence enough and he didn't make a change. Hell, Schoen's kid is better than him.

I could see that. #1 pick for a Heisman QB and an offensive guru and QB developer

If you’re thinking they’ll draft Fernando for Kliff, it’s the Raiduhs. Mark davis will steal Pavia from the depths of UDFA hell and go with a lawn jockey.

When Falcons hired Raheem, rumor was Kirby wanted to interview. Blank wanted Belichik, Fontanot pushed back. Maybe they’ll call Kirby, or bill.

Kliff Kingsbury leaving Washington. Met with Dan Quinn and they decided to mutually part ways. Could he be going to the Raiders to replace Carroll?

Many felt his offense is not conducive to the health of a slightly built QB …

KK kicked the tires on Sark while at AZ. Will sark reciprocate? Sark could interview Kliff to show he is considering an OC but for show only.

Agree. This guy is a clown who should have been fired the second Barkley went to the Eagles

#139

I guess I'll never understand why Kliff has to keep fucking up as a HC, while he is spectacularly successful as an OC and developer of QBs.

Yeah, the money's different, but you suck at doing THAT!!!

I really like Harbaugh as a coach. He might be helped a lot by a very good front office but I'd take him with the Cowboys in a second.

He goes from Ozzie Newsome's protege in Eric DeCosta to Jerry Fucking Jones as his GM and team owner.

I don't see either Harbaugh as being dudes who would tolerate that shit very well.
