well 2 in a row with one on the road is pretty nice. Do it against aggy and I'm back on train...

Haven't made a bucket since they started the dumb chant. Even worse they are doing it when we have the ball. Dumbest student section in basketball.

We didn't break Bama, think Vandy can stand our beatdown too.

We’d be 3-1 in SEC play if it weren’t some of the worst officiating of all time against Mississippi State.

Just happy to see watchable basketball in back to back games for the first time in several years.

That was a really nice win. Nearly every Texas possession remains an adventure, because the ball often sticks too much. But Mark and Vok were so good tonight. Keep it going.

The upcoming schedule is very managable. I believe in the next 10 games, the only top 25 team Texas plays is Georgia X 2.

Honest question on my end. Are you really asking, or is this a rhetorical question?

Honest question…..why has our play been much better over these last two games?…..a big win on the road at Bama and now an undefeated #10 ranked Vandy. Maybe the players are starting to understand what Miller is coaching.

It's called effort and we really lacked it till the Bama game, and it continued tonight.

It’s even more manageable if you look into February.

SEC definitely took a big step back this year. Probably have to get to at least .500 in conference play to have a chance to get in the tournament.

Okay well it's college basketball. We were ass against Mississippi State.

Losses also help sometimes. Not sure this is the same team right now if they eek by MSST and think that their shit doesn't stink as much.

Yep, the players are way to stationary off ball. Several times, the big had the ball and our guards wouod stand there watching him get double teamed at the top of the key.

Said this a couple weeks ago. There aren't any killer teams this year.

I don't think anybody thought we would ever be at the .500 mark again in SEC play.

There was talk of not even winning a conference game.

Oh, how things have changed.

yep. Auburn got Pat Knight'ed. UK not ranked. Bama isn't a top 5 squad.

If we can somehow find a way to take 2 of those 3 winnable road games, while holding firm at home, Texas has a real chance to make a run at the NCAAT in February.

The good thing is the SEC looks like there are a lot of fringe tournament teams. So a lot of these wins also hurt teams competing for a bid. 3 of the next 4 against A&M, Kentucky, and Auburn are those types.

i think florida will be, but that’s it. still super tough and deep league, but a clear step down from the bloodbath it was last year.

We beat their best hoops team of all time last year in the SEC tourney. I'll never fear them lol

Cause its dumb as shit. If your gonna do it at least do it when the other team has the ball, not when your own team is running offense.

Yeah, I don’t have much more than that, either. There were plenty of plays, repeatedly, over the course of the first 13 or so games where players just seemed to dog it. Miller mentioned effort multiple times in recent PCs and also that players simply were executing, or even doing, what he was asking them.

  1. Finally adopting/learning/putting into practice his scheme

  2. Playing with determined effort

  3. Reversion to the mean

  4. Some combo of all three?

Either way, we’ve seen much better basketball these past two games and it has saved the possibility of making the tournament.

That all being said, just to be a realist, I’m sure there will be more frustrating performances to come. This team still lacks a true PG, doesn’t move the ball consistently well on offense, and doesn’t consistently shoot the three well.

My exact reaction except it occurred when I saw us up 40-32 and started paying attention.

Bama is still pretty good, when totally healthy.

Coming off our win they were down two starters and destroyed Miss. St. on the road last night.

#250

Swain with a nice 14/9/7. 4 TO's. If Miller can just tell Mark and Pope to run at Swain and yell for the ball when Swain thinks there is a break opportunity I think we have something.
