My exact reaction except it occurred when I saw us up 40-32 and started paying attention.

I was out at a bar doing something ridiculous and didn’t see the score at all bc my phone was in my jacket pocket. Like damn

We actually did turn a corner. Miller maybe just needed some patience and time from us

We beat their best hoops team of all time last year in the SEC tourney. I'll never fear them lol

I think their 2005-06, 06-07, and 15-16 teams were better than last year’s squad.

That squad in 2015 with Daniel House and Alex Caruso was nice. But, I’m not surprised aggy doesn’t even know their own basketball history. They don’t seem to really care much.

That double overtime win for Texas over Aggy with Durant vs AC Law in 07 was an all-time classic.

I still watch highlights of them going back and forth. Law hit some ridiculous shots that game. Hit a game-winning three the other game in CS the year before too.

I am not going to look upthread to see if anyone posted this yet, but Vok is drawing more fouls per game than anyone in the country by a wide margin. He probably extended that lead tonight. He has turned getting fouled into an art. It’s uncanny. Someone paying for Kenpom or one of the other analytic sites can look it up and post it

And what is with this stupid “kill” stat they are tracking at games at Moody. If this is going to be a thing, when we are in a potential third straight possession with a stop, we need a flashing “KILL! KILL! KILL!” on the big screen with the crowd chanting it every time we have a chance to get one. C’mon, CDC!

I think they said he was 2nd to Dybansta but Dybansta is probably the best player in college basketball.

Someone in the truck must have taken a chatbot hallucination at face value, because that’s not even close to true.

Here are unranked Texas teams’ wins against top-10 opponents since the start of Barnes’ tenure. Kirkland-brand Tony Robbins’ unranked teams alone had four wins against top-10 opponents. Terry had one. Barnes’ teams had seven. (I know Abe and Penders each had some. Harold Bradley and Leon Black probably had one or two between them. Even one of Kaiser Bob’s shitty teams beat #2 Louisville one year.)

Honest question…..why has our play been much better over these last two games?…..a big win on the road at Bama and now an undefeated #10 ranked Vandy. Maybe the players are starting to understand what Miller is coaching.

nah, unfortunately what miller and his team needed was not patience, but a come to jesus moment after one of the most pathetic performances i’ve ever seen against Tennessee. thankfully miller has gotten his message across clearly, but holy shit things were really really bad just two games ago.

Great Win! Miller must have lit that locker room up, because it's been a 360-degree turn in these last two games. Even Mark is out here showing teeth, and he never smiles, but I like it. Whatever they're doing, let's keep it rolling.🤘

Isn’t a 360 degree turn right back where you started and a 180 degree turn gets you going a different direction?

#278

I wasn’t able to watch the whole game. What are they doing now to win that they weren’t doing before?

I mean....

Nothing really scared me until @ Missouri on February 14.

aggy
@ UK (meh)
Georgia (lost to Ole Miss in OT)
@ Auburn (meh-ish)
@ OU (meh)
South Carolina
Ole Miss (fuck you Beard)

Not saying we are about to go on a 9 game win streak, but between aggy and Missouri - 6-1 or 5-2 would be really damn good here.

And now my hopes are up.... (because the only games that "scare" me left are @ Missouri, Florida, @ aggy, @ Arky)

5-2 would be finominle. I'm not there yet with this team but they've certainly done a 720. mainly because so much depends on Vok not getting into foul trouble.

I am not predicting 5-2. It would be amazing and put us squarely back in the tournament picture.

The rest of our schedule period is not that bad. 9-9 in the SEC probably isn’t out of the question anymore.

@Derka , what’s the new KenPom projected conf record for Texas?

kenpom has us up to 9-9 which would have us tied for 6th in sec. we were at 6-10 two games ago, 5-11 before that.

Yeah, 9-9 is a tournament lock for an SEC team. 8-10 likely too?

7-11 with the wins over Vandy and Bama could be a play-in bid.

Dybansta may have him on FTs, but the stat I saw was fouls drawn/40 min - here it is. Vok was at 10.2 before last night's game and went down.... He's fouling out 2 players every 40 minutes.

Data through games of Wednesday, January 14

Note: Minimum 40% minutes played to qualify.
