  • Ugh. When I first moved here in 2010 they used to have an old Expedition that neighbors would volunteer to drive around the neighborhood all weekend with a "SECURITY" sticker on it. Fucking stupid.

That’s crazy and I have no clue what’s going on but my friends said there are condo owners on the 33rd and 34th floors.

Wasn’t the top floor Bob Simpson’s but he never finished it?

That wfaa link has been fixed now too.

Five restaurants were closed due to violations including inadequate refrigeration, flies, live roaches, and rodent droppings:

  • Panther City BBQ at 225 East Pennsylvania Ave., 11
  • Taco Heads at 1812 Montgomery St., 11

Other 3 aren't relevant.

Well fuck. I don’t eat at joints that might kill you. It’s pretty hard to get closed down. First rule: don’t kill the customers. I don’t give them second chances. That’s just nastiness, indifference, ineptitude, or laziness by ownership or management. Panther city off my list. Plenty of other joints that give a shit.

Helping her create the menu and recipes is beloved Fort Worth chef Keith “Buttons” Hicks, the former owner of a pair of well-regarded local soul food restaurants, Buttons Food & Music and Ovation. Hicks was also a co-founder of The Rim restaurants in Fort Worth and Burleson.

Something, something about that dude is never in one successful place very long.

I’ve eaten at all his places and consistency was always the issue.

Grapevine road trip.

They brought in the ringers for the opening weekend, after that they're all gonna look like they play guard for UNT.

But yeah I would go check it out just in case I am wrong!

Dog grooming recs? Arlington Heights Animal Hospital cancelled on us this morning saying they wouldn't be doing it for the "foreseeable future" meaning someone quit or got fired yesterday.

Bush League bar and grill in Hudson Oaks has blown past Shep’s as my Parker County burger spot. Highly recommend.

East of the courthouse, or two exits west of the Mikus rd exit you used to take to get to Hooker’s when it was in the stove shop.

Figured that would appeal to you. I had the Cage Bomb and the Heater. I like spicy, and the Heater did not disappoint.

Owner/Operator was head Chef for the Rangers in the later 00’s early 10’s. He posted about Bushleague on FB and posted some pics. I gave him shit for the hamburger helper but he said the guys loved it.

Fml can’t find the pic. I’ll keep looking

Also used to own a restaurant out in Brock called Comfort Kitchen. Damn good food and good people, but it was tough sledding out there and Covid ultimately did them in. I’m a burger snob and I loved it. Good selection of taps too

I like heat just fine, but the Cage Bomb + onion rings sounds tremendous.

I would avoid southbound 35 from Berry to 20 for the rest of the day
I just got an Amber Alert style notification about it, never seen that before.

Slice city finally back open off oakmont, swung by today and still slams.

The Original Mexican Eats Cafe, a 94-year-old haven of Tex-Mex history, has applied to build a small restaurant and drive-thru on its former parking lot in west Fort Worth.

The Original, one of Texas’ oldest Tex-Mex restaurants, is asking for permission to build a narrow, diner-like stand and driveway on a parking lot at 4735 Camp Bowie Blvd., five doors west of the location where it served tacos and chili-covered enchiladas for 93 years.

The restaurant moved to 1400 N. Main St. near the Stockyards in July 2023, but owner Robert Self kept the parking lots.

The Original had lost a years-long, bitter legal dispute that voided an old property lease.

The application proposes a drive-through along the east border of the property behind a restaurant facing west, toward a canopied and landscaped patio.

Their prices better not suck.

Work is scheduled to begin April 8 and be complete by the middle of June.

I pass this coming home from work everyday, there are definitely people working inside but there is no way this is going to be ready in time for the start of football.

"Son of the Old South founder" has gotta be like 100 years old Id think

Burger Week the 19th-25th, $7 this year, 25+ restaurants participating.
Annoying slide show
Fred's looking good again.

I’ve eaten about half of these. Jakes, Kincaids, M&O, Griffs and many others aren’t playing. I’d go with Fred’s, el Primo, Fuego as the top three of my places I’ve eaten at in this group.

Anything but that fucking plant based Vice travesty.

I miss the Fred's burger with the cheese enchilada on top

Last time I ate Griffs the meat was gray and tasted like microwave

When I worked in downtown Ft Worth ate at the original Fred’s about once a week. And La Familia. And Billy Miners.

As of last Tuesday, that's been fixed. At least at the River Oaks location.
