I think I heard they dropped them as I guess customers broke a few teeth on them. It’s like they were encased in glass. Not that I noticed, but their rolls were good.

WUT They were big russets and dropped in a pot of molten pine resin which encapsulated them. Pulled from the cauldron they would harden with a coating of hard pine resin which was like glass. They cracked with a hammer and cleaned the top of the shards and dust. The inside was the best baked potato ever but you had to be careful to not get any pieces in there. Like glass. I bet they had a few folks sever a tongue or rip out a gum. It was early on in the Decatur store.

I tried it after he opened and he was selling swai, then added real catfish, then says now just catfish. I don’t trust the dude. Some reviewers said they got swai when they ordered catfish. I got chicken instead of fucking swai. It was average. anyway if you’re in that area just go to Catfish Sam’s right down the street. It’s still very good. in Mansfield is a newish place called Bob’s Chicken and Seafood. Debbie Ln at Matlock next to Kroger. The chicken is outstanding, as good as Mikes in Dallas. Excellent huge fried shrimp and tasty fried oysters. Catfish not swai. And fried chicken skin and chicken cracklings (skin with some meat) should be sold by the dump truck. check it out. Ok I’m skating backwards. I went back and I guess I was there on a day the owner was out or they were having a bad day. the owner dropped the swai and its catfish. I got a shrimp basket and it was perfect. Well cleaned well seasoned and perfectly fried. And great hush puppies. Ten huge shrimp, 2 sides, $10.
June 8Jun 8 Unless those newly installed covers are retractable they look like they are going to rip off first big wind.
June 8Jun 8 Based solely on Monterey's posting history, can't imagine he was real close to that joint's suggested dress code.

June 9Jun 9 Folks east of 35E appear to be getting the brunt. Thunder boomers just starting on the Eastern Hudson Oaks side.
June 9Jun 9 No power for me since about three minutes after that post. This is going to be a fun day.

June 10Jun 10 Alright, let’s start the new O/U. Old Keg off BI/20 that’s failed as everything since is trying again this weekend as Fire Pot, a Korean BBQ joint. https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61573716761467

Probably could have made it without all the bs back then

Quote Paco’s Mexican Cuisine, an anchor restaurant on Sundance Square Plaza in downtown Fort Worth, has closed, according to a post Tuesday night on Instagram. Paco’s, 156 W. Fourth St., closed months after chef “Paco” Islas opened his new concept, Shōgun Taqueria, a fusion restaurant in a former Paco’s location at 1508 W. Magnolia Ave. Three years after opening the Sundance location, Paco’s “made the decision to move on” as part of a “strategic refocus” on Shōgun Taqueria, according to the post. The post said Paco’s found it difficult to keep both restaurants “given the climate in the service industry,” an apparent reference to higher food costs, the labor shortage and an industrywide downturn in weeknight dining.
June 13Jun 13 Went to River's on White Settlement last night, new little neighborhood bar in River District Check the bill closely before you sign your tab at that joint. . I almost never look at the itemized, but I do when a $40 shot has been added to a tab of 4 drinks. I hope it was just an honest mistake but I have some suspicions. If they're being shady, they fucking suck at it.

June 13Jun 13 Nah, if it was Fud’s fancy ass it definitely would have been a chilled and dressed shot of 1942. Not sure ACL is boujee like our Aledo boy
June 13Jun 13 Careful. Who you calling fancy ass? I grew up in those mean streets before it was the “River District”. Literally lived on Isbell.

Not sure ACL is boujee like our Aledo boy I'll go high class on occasion, when I feel like getting out of my element. it's kind of like taking a vacation from being a lowlife degenerate. Funny you mentioned 1942, that's exactly what was on the tab. Place was ok, the pizzas are good. Might be an ok place to bring a lady for a quiet night.
June 14Jun 14 20 WB is closed at Markum Ranch. Evidently someone didn’t see the three signs and the multiple barrels signaling to exit because I watched a truck plow right through them and then several cars decided to follow. Watched them whiz right by a few workers as I exited and went back to 2871. Fuckin people
June 14Jun 14 You’re gonna need more than a shot of 1942 for that Do you have any info you can share on the underground water storage deaths yesterday afternoon on Aledo Iona? Assuming noxious gas got them? Possible h2s? I didn’t even know there were underground tanks over there.

June 16Jun 16 Off the Bone BBQ is permanently closed and has been replaced by a Taqueria. Bud had an article earlier today about that.
June 17Jun 17 Used to hang out with this creep at 8.0’s when they had the Texas Music Series during the summers. Fast forward a decade and his daughter was at my hospital a few times and he hooked me up with Pickin for Preemies tix. Sounds like they just need to flush this turd and be done with it.https://www.fox4news.com/news/justin-franzell-former-fort-worth-radio-host-sentenced-jail-after-violating-probation?utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwQ0xDSwK-v-BleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHvNucT6zh5A185x8h2oumDj0cKHIcfAM0pTeM32_9acfjAWbH_ClIgudKsJF_aem_K2TzyIwB6zgs8SoiaRS5Aw
June 19Jun 19 Quote Craft beer pioneer Rahr Brewing is now produced at Wild Acre Brewing in Fort Worth, Wild Acre executive Joel Malone confirmed Monday. Rahr's production line is at Wild Acre, but the brewer is still seeking a permanent home after leaving its original location in South Main Village in April, co-founder Fritz Rahr posted in a Facebook comment. Blue Flag Distillery, a new single-malt whiskey line, will replace Rahr in its old location at 701 Galveston Ave., according to a recent announcement by founder William Rucker. Rahr will host events July 5 and Sept. 13 at the Flying Saucer restaurant and beer hall downtown, 111 E. Third St. Rahr wrote on Facebook: “We are going to AP brew at Wild Acre and once we get that going we are going to look for our new home that we Actually Own! It’s really simple guys.” The sprawling Wild Acre facility, 1734 E. El Paso St. near downtown, also features a restaurant and beer garden. That facility will continue to serve Wild Acre beers, according to Malone. Rahr wrote in April that he is seeking a new location about the same size as the South Main Village building, a 50-year-old former Coca-Cola Bottling warehouse. Sounds like Rahr should have stayed. I'm sure rent went up, but that whiskey company sure jumped quick.
June 19Jun 19 Author That sounds to me like Rahr is on the verge of dying off. Moving out of a brewery without a new one lined up is not a promising sign. Someone on Reddit says they auctioned off their brewing equipment too.
June 20Jun 20 Nothing like being 25 minutes from a Level One trauma center and calling for a bird that has a 25-30 minute ETA, cold load at 10-15 then spool up and back in the air for an 11 min flight. Then 6-7 minute unload time. On a good day that’s a 45 minute turnaround. Good thing the motto for ems is do no harm….
