I drove by the newish Fort Worth Camera building today on Montgomery today and a sign outside said "For Lease - Current Tenant Relocating." I had assumed the Fort Worth Camera owned the building.

The new Hotel Vin, Autograph Collection has found a way to offer outside cocktails in winter, but it has its problems.

The hotel, 215 E. Dallas Road, is offering drinks on its Rioja Rooftop Terrace inside all-weather clear vinyl “bubbles” for six people. But it’s not for everybody, and the price is high.

The hotel describes the bubbles as “igloo-like,” where customers can drink and nosh with a skyline view of downtown Grapevine.

The tables are available beginning at 5 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, for a one-hour window at happy hour or a two-hour window during the evening.

First, a big warning: If you choose to dine inside a giant vinyl bubble, dine only with your own household.

If you get inside a bubble with anyone else, the risk of exposure to viruses is greater than in open air.

Second, the price is steep: $250 for two hours, including an inexpensive bottle of Cava sparkling wine and appetizers.

The happy hour price is cheaper: $100.

To book, call 817-796-9696 or visit hotelvin.com.

Not a fan of the beer but a few of my friends who are East Coast transplants love it.

Nizza Pizza is coming along nicely. Does anyone know what is going in where Dickie's used to be on University? No sign, but it definitely has a drive thru.

A man and a woman were seriously injured in a possibly gang-related shooting at a strip club in south Fort Worth in the early morning hours Saturday, police said.

The department detained several people, according to Officer Tracy Carter, a police spokesman. But the department didn’t immediately announce any arrests or charges.

Units responded to the B.T. Cabaret, in the 8700 block of the South Freeway, around 3:05 a.m. More than 20 units were dispatched to the reported shooting through the morning, according to a police call log.

Officers confirmed a man and a woman were shot, Carter said. They were taken to hospitals in serious condition.

The gang unit is investigating the shooting.

Guess it’s a good thing I went to Cresson today and not Everman.

Anyone been here? Because this is about the least-enticing exterior pic you'll ever see. The trailer to the left sells Detroit-style pizza.

Anybody hear anything about Derek Allen's BBQ catching on fire this weekend?  I had a friend that said he saw Firefighters climbing on the building trying to fight a blaze.

Let's hope they were able to save his wife's tits.

We know she's smoking, but apparently something else caught fire there.

Sorry to hear that. DA and Panther City are my go to BBQ joints.

Panther City FTW!  Ribs are just the best in Tarrant County imho.

I haven't been able to find an answer yet. One property website says that is now owned by Metroplex Multifoods, which operates Taco Bell franchises.

If so, big meh on that.

On another note, I saw that Poop Deck is relocating to the old Fred's space on Bluebonnet Circle.

That news brought back the memory of when Tim Love took over the Oui Lounge and tried to spruce it up... and it closed within like 6 months? Fuckin douche.

Poop Deck appeared to be open in their old spot in late December, which means they technically should have had their food certificate. Can’t imagine that cuisine.

And in somewhat related news, Maxine’s is done for good. 377 south of the circle ain’t got shit left for bars now.

Ha, they really are going to 'Bar & Grill' now. No fucking thanks.

Hey, Bud! Did you see the sign on Blue Bonnet Circle? That old Fred’s TCU location is the new home of the Poop Deck Bar and Grill.

Yes. Frightened. Did not remember the old 1970s Poop Deck location on West Seminary Drive ever having a grill. Of course, I did not remember much of anything about 1970s nights in the Poop Deck.

If you remember the nights in any of Allred's bars in the 70's, you were never there.

I can’t remember if it’s been discussed here, but Maple Branch Brewery is a nice little spot. Lots of beers on tap and they have a big indoor and outdoor space. People stay pretty spread out and it feels reasonably safe from a Covid standpoint. They are located in the Foundry District, a few blocks behind the W 7th Target.

This.

Went there with the BiL recently, thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have a long sleeve JJ’s shirt that gets worn this time of year. Invariably someone stops me & asks a question about that place, it’s fucking weird.

14 fucking years old. They probably got an iPhone & $15. Am I allowed to wish very bad things on two 14-year olds?

Two 14-year-old boys were arrested Wednesday and accused of the murder of an Uber Eats driver in Haltom City.

The motive of the suspects, whose names weren’t released because they’re juveniles, appeared to be robbery, Haltom City police said in a news release Thursday morning.

Ryan Graham, 31, was delivering food for Uber Eats on Saturday when she was killed at the apartment complex in the 4200 block of Northern Cross Boulevard in Haltom City, according to police and a GoFundMe in Graham’s name. A resident at the apartments told police around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday he found Graham with severe trauma in the breezeway in front of his home at the complex. She died at the scene.

Police announced on Thursday she suffered a fatal stab wound to her neck.

Detectives uncovered evidence linking the 14-year-olds to the killing, police said. SWAT team members took the two into custody at an apartment complex in the 3600 block of Tanacross Drive in Fort Worth on Wednesday.

They were taken to the Tarrant County Juvenile Justice Center and booked on suspicion of capital murder.

Police announced the arrests Wednesday night but didn’t provide further information at the time.

Shit, doubtful even that.

During an interrogation, Kim said, the suspects said they began assaulting Graham because they were trying to steal her vehicle. They couldn’t find her keys and one of them stabbed her in the neck, breaking the knife in the process, Kim said.

Never was a fan of Drake’s. Much preferred PCBC when I’m in that area

It’s good tasting food but not one of my favorites. We also choose PCB more often.

Damn, the titters are dangerous these days.

A man who was thrown out of a strip club in north Fort Worth late Friday night retrieved a shotgun from his vehicle and fired several times into the building, before an armed security guard shot him, police said.

The man, who was struck at least twice, was stable when medics took him to a hospital. But police didn’t have an update on his condition on Saturday morning.

There were no reports of anyone else struck by gunfire.

Police responded around 11:45 p.m. to a report that a man was shot at the Buck’s Cabaret, located at 2345 Meacham Boulevard, according to a police call log. Officers determined the incident began when the man was thrown out of the bar for causing a disturbance, police said.

He went to his vehicle, police said, where he pulled out a shotgun. He shot several times into the side of the strip club, causing a security guard for the business to return fire.

Officer Tracy Carter, a police spokesman, said in an email on Saturday morning the man hasn’t been charged with anything yet.

“It’s still being investigated,” he said.

Shooting the building with a shotgun. I'm sure he was of verrry sound mind when he came up with that idea for revenge.

Table dances must not have worked out like he thought they would.

Damn good pic, not sure why they waited damn near two weeks to release it. January 23 at the BoA in the Kroger parking lot of University/Berry.

Pretty bold, that is a very heavy traffic area.

Came to scout out Cook Shack from the locals (opening in Houston around the corner from me), got shootings instead.

Yes sir, I dig that chicken sandwich. I haven't tried anything else actually. Unless you're a pussy, Texas Hot has a healthy amount of kick.
