2018-19 Houston Rockets Thread of running it back (mainly)

Assuming he is bought out.

I think our biggest struggles are due to an inability to replace Ariza from last year. One of the better  3-D role players in the league, which by default (Gordon to bench) strengthens depth.

None of the additions have come close to filling that void and I’m not sure that player is out there right now. Even 2019 Ariza is not good enough.

Ariza sucks. I was hoping Green would pan out, but shumpert will do fine. Rivers has been a positive suprise he may get some playoff mins.

To me, this should get us to take the Warriwhores to the limit again.

Keep playing iso ball, slow the game down, switch everything on D, play a style that the best team hates. Ya gotta chance.

really need to win these last two games before the break against sub .500 teams.   rockets are 11 point favorites tonight.  that stuns me.  is luka out?

Dallas had a crazy 4th quarter comeback last night. Then traveling to a (somewhat) rested squad that owes them a butt kicking. Plus they are still trying to figure out a rotation with all the new guys.

harden's streak could be in jeopardy.  only 20 points through 3 quarters and he isn't shooting well tonight.

Thank god....  He never was going to catch Wilt's main record and he pushed it far further than I ever thought possible but hopefully they can play better team basketball without him pushing to extend the streak.

yeah, the streak ending before the all star break is probably a good thing.  rest up during the downtime and then come out after the break focused 100% on winning.

That was pretty entertaining to read after the fact.

This just in, Harden is ridiculous.

uh oh, this might upset some popular narratives...

He benefits from the limited hand check on the perimeter rules, but he is still one of the greatest offensive players to play in the NBA.

How did Wilt average 48.5 minutes per game?  Hasn't it always been 48 minutes a game?

Harden amazing yet we can’t get a stop to save our life.

Guess he had enough OT games to raise his average over the “max” 48 mins.  I recall reading that he only missed like 10 minutes the entire season.

Announcer nailed it last night. Teams just aren’t that afraid of the Rockets shooters around James this year. Too much inconsistency.

Give Harden one more 30 point game so he moves into 2nd place all-time, by himself, and then I hope he has a 15 point game to end it.

gonna have to be better defensively.

capela will help with that, but still need to be better.

nice first quarter against the lakers.  harden gets in foul trouble, but the depth of the roster is (finally) on display.

did not anticipate faried playing much 4 alongside capela but i'm liking that lineup thus far.

Thought this game was tomorrow, oops. Just tuned in at the start of the 3rd and things are looking good. Real nice highlight play with a sneaky pass by CP3 to Harden as he throws down a big 1 handed jam

gotta stop blowing these big leads.  only scored 16 points in the 4th quarter and 6 of those were in garbage time.

We blew another 19 point lead smh
Can't do a whole lot when the refs turn on you to shave points in the 2nd half. Absolute joke of a ref job tonight, so many tricky track calls against us, horrible charging calls against harden and CP3 that negated a few baskets. This is just another Scott Foster special, who is notorious for hating the Rockets, and who we were 0-6 against last postseason. The guy is a complete embarrassment to this league and should be in prison with Tim Donaghy.

In the second half, the Rockets shot 2 free throws total, the Lakers had 19. Before that it was 12 to 12 for the first half. That doesn't happen by accident, it was a clear decision by the refs to not give any shots to the Rockets, and call every possible little thing against them. That game should be reviewed by the league office, but we know it won't.

yeah scott foster is most definitely a POS.

still have have to score more than 10 points in the first 11 minutes of the 4th quarter though.

I just saw that markieff Morris signed with okc so I’m guessing that means our roster is set as I’m assuming the buy out market is dried up. Was hoping for another guy to be added.

God damn the warriors cry like little bitches about every call that goes against them

pj tucker is a force of nature.

Faried should stop thinking he's Larry Bird.

team is so much better when CP3 is ball dominant, if/when Harden comes back , 13 should play off the ball A LOT.

i'm fearing a late minute loss.

Hope that BS goaltending goal doesn't make a difference at the end. Maybe Draymond is out for the rest of the game if he's not acting about his injury.

I for one would not be sad if green blew out his knee. Fuck him

is it my imagination or has Curry's handle declined over the last 2-3 years? I remember him and Kyrie having comparable handles but KI is clearly ahead.

they better not blow this 11 pt lead with 4mins

make it an 8 pt lead.  Damn

Finally a good timeout by D'Antoni. Didn't wait for the lead to disappear.

Not sure why Eric Gordon rushed the shot after that badass PJ steal.

We're 3-0 versus the Warriors this season, but somehow 5th in the West. Maybe this is the way it's meant to play out.

Rockets looked great tonight and without Harden.  Smh
