Last night, Rudy Gobert had a Defensive Rating Last Night: 131.4. The guy that will probably win DPOY. This team destroyed him with the PnR.

Chris Paul was wearing the Tiger Woods shoes last night:

Yes. He played 6+ minutes in the 2nd quarter.

D'Antoni's rotation was beautiful last night. Paul or Harden on the court at all times, 9 played in the 1st half and none of those 9 were Iman Shumpert.

Edited by HtownHorn

yep, he was the 9th man in the rotation behind rivers, house and faried.  played 13 minutes and scored 9 points.

The DRtg for the Rockets last night that played double digit minutes.

Harden - 92

Capela - 89

Paul - 92

Tucker - 90

Gordon - 93

House - 90

Rivers - 86

Faried - 89

Green - 95

I hope this is our playoff form. Harden can score 30 without trying. If he focuses on everyone else we are a tough matchup for anyone.

D'Antoni, you just saw the W's blow a 31 point lead in a loss at home. Get your team mentally ready for tomorrow!

It's great that the Clippers just pushed GS to at least a 5 game series, cause if the Rockets can take care of business, they can get a few extra days rest to prepare for the next series. Let's hope LAC takes another 1 or 2 and forces GS to keep playing.

Cousins is likely done for the next round as the best case scenario, likely done for the playoffs.

They are going to have to play about 6 or maybe even 7 games to finish these guys off.

Sweet!

Also, thanks Bev, you the fuckin man.

I think they'll play better without cousins anyways.

Cousins killed the Rockets in the last regular season matchup. It's a definite blow to them.

Yep.

He had 13 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 4 blocks in the 1st game against the Rockets

He had 27 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, and 0 blocks in the 2nd game.

The Rockets are a better team than last year's injured version. The Golden State Warriors are now the same team they were last year except with major locker room issues.

It will be if they play that junk defense on Harden and Paul again. The Jazz had 12 more FT makes than the Rockets and still lost by 20 30.
They won't. That was terrible strategy.

"Hey, don't let Harden drive left... Right is ok, though."

Because he can't make layups or passes on his right.

I read something where Rubio was quoted as saying the Jazz were committed to playing that silly defense on Harden all series wrong. I have trouble believing that though.

Something something until you get punched in the mouth something something.

"We're not gonna let James Harden beat us even if their team scores 122."

Ok, cool.  Hook'em.

Jordan Rules defense would be perfect for Harden.  The league would never allow it anymore, however.

That's an interesting thought. I think Harden's ability to bomb treys and his greater passing ability compared to young MJ would be an effective counter to the physicality/aggression/collapsing when Harden drove to the rim.

Harden would be a beast with his physical style but average 24pts and 3 deep thigh bruises a game

#OakleyMason

The step back 3 is also a good counter to tight hand checking D to create space.

Also, the most important thing was....no zone at all. Harden is one of the best isolation players of all time. I think he would be way better off than a Seth Curry in the same era

Yeah, no zone/help defense in the lane with a bunch of shooters around the 3pt line would make every ISO possession a layup drill for Harden.

i fucking hate the way basketball is officiated

Lots of game left, but this is a good start. Great defense!

That was filthy from Harden.

We might be up by 32 at halftime tonight.

aggy going to boycott TNT. They just said House was from UH.

They’re not aggy if they don’t boycott.

Why would Domino’s give you points to use by taking pictures of any pizza. Even frozen. They’ve had some weird commercials

There was always help defense in the lane under the old rules.  You could always legally double team the ballhandler.  Most of the all time great centers built their block stats by blocking driving guards, not the big men who were trying to post them up.

And y'all are mostly describing common man to man defense, not Jordan Rules.  The Pistons would maul and double team Jordan as soon as he touched the ball wherever that may be.  Harden would never be in ISO.  Neither was Jordan.  Really almost nobody was in ISO under the old defensive rules, but especially not in the Jordan Rules.

This is the Jordan Rules

Rubio might as well not play D at all, just hang out on the offensive side of his court - would truly be more effective.

Hell fucking yes

Need to put this run down.  If they cut this to 12 by the end of the quarter, it's not done.

Good job going to the bench D'Antoni

Haha. We are beating the Jazz so bad, they are running their offense through Grayson fucking Allen.

The Rockets fucked off that 3rd quarter and still increased the lead. One of those nights where everything is gonna go your way.

oh man, cp3 out there making defensive play after defensive play.

i'll admit, i thought this series was going to be much tougher than it is turning out to be.  very impressed with these guys right now.

I'd like to kick Grayson Allen in his nuts.

i hated that guy at Duke, almost as much as that wojo asshole from years ago. Now that he's in the NBA i hate him for being rich AND an asshole.
