The best rivalry in sports comes to the postseason once again. Sox took the season series 10-9. Should be competitive as always, I say the Yankees pull off the upset in 5 games.

It’s like a 2 week long Duke/UNC slurpfest.

Go Sox(even if I live in Upstate NY).

No shit. The World Series Champions are getting zero prime time games during the ALDS.

I remember where I was when this happened.
in the Cotton Bowl, watching on a little handheld TV...because what Pedro did to Zimmer was child’s play compared to what Stoops did to Mack that day.

I bet Harlingen is just crawling with Yankee fever this week.

This one's going 5 games.  Go Sox.

Given that Happ is pitching for the Yankees, the Sox go with future HOF (and Yankee-killer) Steve Pearce batting third.  (Quite the underrated midseason trade, btw.)

Red Sox lineup:

Betts, RF

Benintendi, LF

Pearce, 1B

Martinez, DH

Bogaerts, SS

Nunez, 3B

Kinsler, 2B

Leon, C

Bradley Jr., CF

And NYY goes with their same from the other night.

LF A. McCutchen R
RF Aaron Judge R
CF Aaron Hicks B
DH G. Stanton R
1B Luke Voit R
SS D. Gregorius L
3B M. Andujar R
C Gary Sanchez R
2B G. Torres R

Fun meaningless stat:

Since the epic 2004 ALCS, the Red Sox and Yankees have faced each other in 260 regular season games. Since the start of 2013, they are 57-57 against each other.

Yeah you can pick almost any point in time and the Yankees-Red Sox series would be about split down the middle since then. Not many rivalries you can say that about.

Hate the Red Sox, hate pretty much everything about Boston sports, but I can admit the Red Sox are just really really fucking good this year. Made a 100 win team a non-factor in the division race. No doubt in my mind, whoever wins this series is winning it all.

Well, Sale is hitting 95 on the gun... that’s at least somewhat of a relieving sign.

Whatever that father and son paid for front-row monster seats... pretty sure it paid off.

Celebrity Jeopardy with Luke Voit...

Alex T “How do you spell ‘Luke’?”

Luke Voit:  “Me know... me me know... L... O... O”

Damn that was a hell of a play.  Would have been justice to double him up.

Are MLB dugouts the last place in the world where we still have phones like that?

(Wait, other than my in-laws' house...)

The fan who caught the foul ball down the LF line appears to be having a good time. How could you be that drunk and still catch that ball?

Matt Barnes - while dominant at times this year - wears his pants like a retiree in Boca Raton.
