Damn that was pretty fucking dark but this time it wasn't really their fault.

Good stuff. Next week has potential to be a classic:

Spoiler

Overage Drinking: A National Concern

When Tammy and Trey, now in their 40s, show up to remove their teenage son from Paddy's, Dennis and Dee attempt to reconnect with their former prom dates. Frank's sudden disappearance sends Mac and Charlie on a mission to track down his whereabouts.

Yes it was

Last night’s episode was 10 days from being exactly 20 years after the original aired

I’m really enjoying Kaitlin Olson’s performance this season. You can tell she’s picked some stuff up from leading a couple network shows. DeVito is probably the only better actor on the show.

A lot of people didn’t seem to realize it was her. Not sure who else it would be, there’s only 3 regularly appearing women on the show and Dee and The Waitress were obvious

not gonna lie, it took me a hot minute to realize it was her. when i did i said out loud, “holy shit, she got that good good ozempic!” i still wasn’t even sure it was her until they said her name out loud, which in sure was done on purpose. wild transformation.

Goddamn just watched the last two episodes and it’s so fucking good lol! I knew Artemis lost weight and the reference of her unrecognizable as Frank was great. The monologue was haunting, classic Dennis. I’m enjoying the shit out of this season.

I didn’t love Frank’s storyline. Could have played the perv angle better.

Dee low key killed. The bird joke and the attempted catch phrase were both great.

I loved the tribute to Lynne Marie Stewart (Charlie’s mom). Really thoughtful and caring.

BARF ON THAT THANG, Y’ALL

Goddamn that season finale was great. Loved Frank as the Golden Bachelor.

Very touching tribute to Lynne Marie Stewart over the final credits. Got a little dusty in there.

I was hoping they'd sneak in a Taxi reference somewhere.  Was there one and I just missed it?

Sir that show was on the air before I was born. I wouldn’t know

This season was MUCH better than the last two.

That has to be very rare for shows that have been on the air so long.

Every episode was at or near classic level this season. I wouldnt blame them if they are about to put an end to it.

Season 18 is confirmed, and they will start filming in January.  And they want Carol Kane to be in it, for as many appearances as she's willing!

They did a 4 season renewal in 2020, so Season 18 is the end of the contract.  No word on another renewal.

There was an interview with DeVito about the finale where he said they are taking the (current) lack of future renewal at face value and assuming 18 is the last, until they are told or offered more.  Think Charlie said something similar.

Per Charlie, Mac is the driving force behind the show. I’d imagine it’ll continue as long as wants to keep going, but Charlie seems to have many interests outside of the show + a family. And Kate is on a network show.

And DeVito is 80 years old

I would not hate if it ended after 18, and after DeVito dies, it brings the gang back together for a movie.

I like that idea. Not sure a major motion picture  would do well, but might as well let them try.

I don't want to see a Sunny sans DeVito. Frank Reynolds is one of the greatest comedic characters in TV history.

I’m not crying you’re crying. Great season. Looking forward to at least one more season. RIP Lynn, RIP Lynn, RIP Lynn, so that Charlie doesn’t die.

Overall, a very good season and helps smooths over some of the inconsistent recent seasons. Looking forward to 18. Hopefully they go out strong.

Best season since season 12 at least. I'm not even a hater on the most recent ones - I'll take whatever they give us and accept that nothing gold stays. But this season was gold.

The two golden bachelor episode had me laughing out loud more than anything else I’ve watched in a few years. They got back to their best in a long time.

Not wishing death upon Devito, but when he does eventually expire, Eli Manning playing him on sunny would be awesome.

They could always do the Jon Hamm - Larry David thing. Nobody needs to die.

Was watching season 6 last night before bed and I think "Who got Dee pregnant?" Is firmly in my top ten.
