the best still shot I have seen.  Good grief.

Did he just go and sit down right there on the sideline? That was a sick grab. I’m not sure how he managed that TD either.

Colin Johnson looks like Rambo compared with Epps.

Epps seems lazy to me. Doesn’t really ever get position or use his body to do so.

Maybe Duv can slap him around and wake him the fuck up, or tell his brother on defense to. We have absolute beasts for athletes at WR, they should be taking games over.

Epps reminds me of Dan Buckner.

He seems like the former awkward, scrawny, shy kid whose head is taking awhile to catch up with what adulthood, strength and conditioning have turned his body into.  Hopefully he develops that killer instinct mentality and gets use of the tools the weight room has provided... This is his first real year on the field, so the verdict to execute should be postponed until at least 1/2 way into next year.  If he gets lapped by some of the younger talent coming in next year, we can then sling the outdated produce.

Like the guys who have to take a hit in a game before they wake up, I'm hoping Epps will get angry after taking a couple shots and just start dominating DBs.

Because of uncertainty, it seems foolish for CJ to play in West Virginia game now...

I assume he will be ready to play on Saturday.

Needs to be.

I don’t think there’s any doubt he will play

Collin Johnson has Oklahoma's number.

If I were him, I'd redshirt the rest of the season. Come back for a full season, more experienced team, maybe a playoff run.

He needs to just shut it down now. He’s of no use to us anymore.

Thanks for the five or six games he impacted

I was thinking it's about time for "focus on preparing for the draft" season.  I wouldn't be surprised if he shut it down and skipped the bowl game. Wouldn't blame him either.   There's nothing he can do to help his draft stock by playing short of putting up 3 absolute monster games.  All he needs to do it train and run something in the 4.5 range.

Unfortunately I agree.

Chuck and Mensa did not maximize his talent to the fullest and underachieved. The injuries are a factor for his draft status.

Remembering why this thread was started gives me a little hope for Epps.

Collin not playing for Senior Day against Tech due to hamstring injury. ..

Remember this report:

"A win might’ve quieted the murmurs of discord inside the Texas locker room, according to sources, that appeared to be occurring between older and younger players. Sophomore receiver Brennan Eagles was suspended for the TCU game after missing practice for personal reasons last Tuesday after allegedly airing some grievances about inconsistency in the way some players are being treated by Herman. Sophomore receiver Jordan Pouncey entered the transfer portal Thursday, the same day his younger brother Ethan, a four-star cornerback recruit, de-committed from Texas."

Now that we know several assistants are about to get fired, it's time to get real about CJ and Coach Mehringer babying this clown.  CJ and Mehringer were huge problems inside the WR room per a few players on the team.  CJ did not practice hard, and used minor injuries to miss numerous parts of practices this year without consequences.  Epps is both CJ and Coach Bro's (Mehringer) buddy -- so obviously why fuckin' Epps played more.

SUCH BULLSHIT -- WR playing time has NOT been based on a meritocracy, and CJ has been such a HUGE disappointment at Texas.

Honestly, seems like the mutha fucka is just soft as Kleenex. Not just regular Kleenex but the shit with extra layers and aloe vera.

Dang this thread title didn't pan out... like @Junior Miller says:  "seems like the mutha fucka is just soft as Kleenex."

Humidor update 12/20:  "At this point, Collin Johnson is a maybe to play. He's telling people he intends on playing but we'll see."

Kinda hope CJ sits out Alamo Bowl so the returning 2020 WRs get more snaps.

I doubt he’d take it but if he wanted it, any chance he’d qualify for a medical redshirt? Seems like at least a couple of years he was injured more than he played. Guy is a beast on the field but just can’t stay healthy.

I will be blown away if he plays. Just seems highly unlikely based on

a) does nothing for him

b) his “showcase” is sr. Bowl

Collin who?

Check post #185 above to see why it's time for CJ to move on.

Pretty sure CJ was still our 2nd best WR. So, merit?

Imo, he will be a mid round draft pick unless he runs very fast at the combine and moves up a bit. He will have "durability and work ethic concerns" as well as difficulty getting off press.
I don't think we have to worry about him having a fast 40. Never seems fast in the field.
He can train for a fast 40. He's probably a 4.55ish type that can get down to 4.47 or so for the combine.

No way he breaks a 4.50.

Yeah, no.

Josh Doctson clone.

That’s generous. Doctson was unstoppable in college. More like Marcell Ateman.

Yeah, no.

I'd be amazed if he breaks a 4.6. My guess is probably 4.67 or so.
