Flame away.  Not going to lie, I really like the show.  It's a great one hour escape, and I dig the cast, cars, and action.  Like that Higgins is a bad ass with a nice accent.

And apparently Robin Masters is a real person vs Higgins’ pen name in the original. I like the show so far.

I wanted to hate it but I don't.

Funny Magnum moment I could not square away was in episode 2.  They go to the fancy restaurant, dude orders steak WELL DONE, and then proceeds to order a Chateau Margaux.  Those two things just cannot be squared up.  HIggins with a very solid order of Aubert chard.  One of my favorites.  Doubt that would be served by the glass, but I can let that slide.  Well done steak with Margaux?  Nope.  cannot work with that.  Other than that, it's fun as hell.

That story changed during the original show. In the first few seasons you saw glimpses of Robin every now and then (kinda like Charlie on Charlie's Angels). He was an Orson Welles type. Later it changed to Higgins pen name.

I didn't care for the first episode being called "I Saw the Sun Rise." Otherwise, it is fun. And T.C. is underused.

Yes, I recall that as well. It was never really reconciled.

im liking the reboot and the new cast. i agree, the new higgins is an upgrade. i just hope they don't fuck it up with a magnum / higgins romance

I may have to give it a second chance. I watched the first 10 minutes of the premiere and punched out.

I’ve been pretending this isn’t happening. It’s actually decent?

Almost unwatchable. The Higgins chick is interesting. Between Cold Case and NCIS: New Orleans.

Yep.

Not gonna do it. They might as well remake The Rockford Files and make Jim a black female.

Really damn good episode tonight. Not gonna lie I’m digging it. It’s my 11 year olds favorite show and we watch it together every week.  Fun time of week for me

I'm still digging this show, deep into season 2. they've really captured the spirit of the original

yep. still in.  Didn't think the episode this week was all that great, but they can't all be perfect.  This and Seal Team are my network TV must watch shows.  both solid.

Passed on season 1 for a couple reasons. I hated the idea of a remake of the original, my favorite show of my youth. And I usually skip the first season of any show in case I really like it and it gets canceled. If renewed, I’ll catch up. That said, one of my dvr time waster shows was Hawaii 5-0. And they had a cross over with Magnum this season. I didn’t hate the characters like I thought I would, in fact I kinda enjoyed it. Enough so that I’m now catching up on season 1. It’s not as smart as the original, but still surprisingly enjoyable. Higgins is certainly easier on the eyes. Might have to rethink my avatar....

OK, there was nothing worth watching tonight so I decided to give the reboot a 2nd chance. Watched S3 E1 on demand. I stand by my previous assessment. This show is garbage and shits all over the memory of the original. It's piss.

Can never top that Mike Post intro theme, though.

I liked this reboot, especially Higgins.   hummina hummina

She’s horrible and not attractive at all, and she runs funny.

The OG is free on Prime, with ads

midway through Season 1 and it’s a damn solid watch. Season 1 show intro sucks donkey Boner, but seeing all the soon to be  intro scenes in the show is very cool

S1E1 is greatness. Not sure when they gave up Robin being real character on screen (Orson Welles), but it made the show better with the Higgins angle.

Well… He died, so there’s that.

have they had a scene as awesome as this one yet?

Unfortunately no, but Pushing Up Roses covered that (she normally does Murder She Wrote).

Almost through season 3 and Some more observations :

1 TM had causal island wear down ! That man was always comfortable and island stylish.

2 TM was a pussy magnet, he has to have at least 40 kids running around that island. you just know the Robins Nest was a raw dog only sone

3 great cast and writing

4 lot of Vietnam references and flashbacks, and man they nailed it. In the end, it’s always positive.

I’m digging it, a lot

OG magnum pi / murder she wrote - Angela Lansbury crossover episode …….

1 Did magnum knock it down ?

2 Did lansbury drop her granny panties ?

Angela Lansbury? Sharon Stone, Annie Potts, Mimi Rogers, Dana Delany, Morgan Fairchild...they were all guest stars. And you’re wondering about Angela Lansbury?

Oh btw, I finally watched an episode of Murder She Wrote for the first time a few months ago. God, it was bad.
