Not a trump card IMO, but I’d like to see it happen. I think it’s happening regardless of Trump.

Georgia is likely hopeless but cmon Texas! You gonna let Oklahoma show you up?

So, a Republican Senator, from a state which was kinda the bellcow for MJ legalization, is the SOLE source for this article?

And the message is “Hey, trust us, the President is going to legalize weed...but only after you all vote for us...I pinky swear.”

We don’t even have casinos, can’t buy liquor on Sundays, and had a really tough time legalizing scratch off lottery tickets.

I’m not optimistic about weed here.

What I want to see is reform regarding concentrate. $100 pack of gummies from Colorado gets you a plea bargain offer of 20+ years in Pampa, assuming you have no criminal history.

The shit should not be any different on the DEA Schedule than “regular” marijuana is.

You mentioned Pampa for a slightly different reason, but its towns like Pampa that keep the drug war booming in Texas.  Its big money for small town PDs.  The only way they can keep the cash flowing is by fucking you over when you drive through.

Is this before or after infrastructure week?

The Democrats should put legalization initiatives on every state ballot they can in 2020. It is not a winning issue for Republicans.

So why not take credit for it.

Yeah I think that's basically the play. Also industrial uses, medical uses, and foods. I think hemp protein has to be imported from Canada. Take it off schedule 1 for sure.

Anyway, as a political strategy, it's a pretty perfect move for a conservative libertarian.

It's not a good move for a Republican because weed is super bad but pass me my 20th Bud Light of the day so I can be nursing a hangover at Mineola Baptist Church tomorrow!

I actually disagree. There's a lotta good ol boys that like their weed. I think it's one of those things that they'd resist in public but vote for in the booth (not everyone, obviously).

The City of Atlanta at least somewhat decriminalized it, so that's a start. The best thing that can happen is for nearby states to legalize it and take the tax revenue.

Pigs will fly the day elected Republican leadership in Texas comes out in favor of marijuana decriminalization.

just for white people though right?

This.  They want to make money from private prisons. They aren't decriminalizing anything.  Especially anything that would let more black people vote.  They love that there are a ton of ex-convicts for drug crimes who they can keep off the voter rolls.

Also, Lo fucking L at anyone believing anything that comes out of this WH. These are the same people who told us they were going to expand Medicaid, expand Medicare, protect DACA recipients, and have Mexico pay for a border wall.  They aren't going to do anything that would be popular with the country at large.  They only care about fattening their own wallets and lib tears.

If the WH is actually considering it, its only because they are trying to force Sessions out.  They know this is something that would drive him nuts.

All while bragging how we're the state that loves personal freedom and hates big government.

Hemp, a form of cannabis, to become legal with Trump's signature on Farm Bill

I wonder if a Hillary lead office would have implemented this same measure..?

I liked Trump far more than Hillary...
And if Dems had not sabotaged their own DNC and allowed an organic rising of Sanders vs Trump, I would have had 2 good options...

Hemplyne hemp plastics are biodegradable and recyclable.
Hemplyne hemp plastic is completely biodegradable and recyclable when it is made with a biodegradable polymer. We traditionally think of recycling as the reuse of mechanical parts, although if we use more biodegradable materials, we could introduce a new cycle that would be much more environmentally friendly. Plants are harvested and broken down into essential components for production and a product is produced. After its use, it is put into a landfill where nature will run its course and break it down into necessary nutrients essential for the plant’s growth (compost) and the cycle is complete. For the production of Hemplyne we use the fibre of the hemp plant. Hemplyne will biodegrade completely in 18 months.

Could this help end the plastic water bottle pollution?
