Fuck.  That sucked, didn't it?  And I loved the first one as well.

The Jaegers look so cartoony in the trailer. I'll pass.

I honestly can't put into words my disappointment.  Rife with story problems, cdain is 100% right on the cartoonish feel... I literally looked at the wife as we left and the only words I could muster was "what the fuck was that?".

Yeah, when your 11 year old is walking out of the theater picking apart the plot holes, you have a problem.

fuck, first one was a guilty pleasure, but in all honesty they couldn't make the trailer look halfway decent.  Never stood a chance.

It was exactly the dumpster fire I expected. But it'll sell well in China, and that's Legendary's main focus after their Chinese ownership.

Thank the lord others are agreeing with how I felt. I'm a big Godzilla fan so enjoyed the first one but felt like they went extra kiddy on this one and the twist just felt lazy. I think they could have went in so many better directions than the one that they chose.

The first was an unexpected trip back to childhood.  It was gonna be real hard for anything to live up to that.  I could tell by the trailers this would suck.  Based on most movies that come out of this type nowadays, is it really a surprise?

Glad to know my instincts were right. After seeing the trailer, I told my wife that it looked like they were trying to make it for the teen demographic with all the young actors and Transformers-obvious CGI. I'll wait until I can see it for free somewhere.
