I dunno-- put them in an enclosed area, and the Neanderthal wins 9 out of 10.

For AOC or any other gracile Homo Sapiens Sapiens to shine, you need to give them more room, chances to innovate, missile weapons, and possibly a chance for better language skills to come into play.

Most likely scenario is a stalemate lasting some 50,000 years, with the AOCs dominating coastal lands, and MTGs holed up in hilly terrain.
