Had a decent break in the clouds right when the diamond ring effect was happening. That was awesome.

Clouds lifted at the perfect time. Seemed like a full 2 mins. Way cooler than i thought it would be.

removing the glasses was something

Had a break in the clouds for all of totality and will for the remainder.

Followed my plan from earlier in the thread.

absolutely.  Fucking.   Ethereal.

When's the next one?

Approx 18 months... but.... you would have to travel...Greenland, Iceland, Spain... etc

I watched the DFW feed over here in California where I’m stuck for work and it was great. Thankfully, already had the experience of a total eclipse when I was younger. Glad the weather worked out for y’all.

That was dope. Got a good minute of totality before a cloud took over.

Sooo....when is the world apocalypse going to happen? I got pegged last night for the first time thinking I wouldn't have to tell anyone or remember it past today.

The jam-out of the organ on “Eclipse” during the height of totality with a gummie high was beyond outstanding.

Very cool.

Not something I would have traveled for but well worth stepping out the back door.

Even with the clouds, it was surreal how quickly it got dark entering totality.

Clouds stayed away long enough to catch totality and see the ring.

Careful!

My meager attempt to snap a couple of pics. Totality was cool.

Mine turned out same. But looking at the totality with red rays coming from behind was pretty cool

That was fucking crazy! All of the clouds disappeared 10 minutes before and I got a wide open view of it. It's really true that it hits you at your core.

That was one of the coolest things i have ever seen, we got a break in the clouds right at the right time.

Legit.  Elementary school down the street let all the kids out and gave them glasses.  They were losing their little minds.  Hilarious.

6 years ago, how did people know it was going to be an eclipse today? That is amazeballs!!!!!!

Mostly Nostradamus, a little Farmer's Almanac.

We got lucky at my house and had a break in the clouds at the right time.

The clouds completely blocked out totality at my office. It was still cool to experience it get dark at 1:30 in the afternoon, but I can’t say I’m not jealous of those of you who got the full experience

Total cloud cover and they cancelled my kids activities due to rain. Absolute bust for us, glad others got to enjoy it at least.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting it to get that dark so fast.

I'm standing around outside talking shit about the clouds preventing me from experiencing the eclipse then darkness just rolls across the land.

Username checks out

It was cloudy all morning at Lake Waco, but we had a break a few minutes before totality. Back to cloudy not more than 10 minutes after

Just before

PS if you see this rental RV in Austin later today through Thursday, stop by for a beer [emoji482]

We live out by the Austin zoo.  My boys got up on the roof to enhance the experience. Saw neighbors having sex on their roof. No pics.

Got to see a few intermittent peeks between & through clouds. I wasn't expecting so much light to be coming around the periphery of it. Almost like the moon's disc wasn't quite big enough to fully occlude the sun. (Watching from between Manor and Pflugerville.)

Did anyone else feel like a massive alien space ship blocking the sun was about to appear in the sky and Jeff Goldblum was nearby?

I did the same, auto darkening lens for the win.

Got to see it through the clouds and I think it was even cooler that way.  Clouds made it look like an undulating fire ring.

that's called bailey's beads and is not created by clouds but rather sunlight bouncing through lunar craters and valleys

Well that was fun! The gorgeous blues of a clear sky weren't visible but otherwise pretty cool. That last minute where it gets geometrically darker/faster is still something to behold.  Also cool to compare the two (2017) for me. BTW roosters did start crowing here and birds definitely stopped completely, we were looking for that and got it.

BTW, this was the one hope I/many others had - a recently-discovered confirmation of a long-believed phenomenon. This article is why the clouds parted enough when it seemed like all hope was lost. A quick and good read.

Talk to you in 300 years when the next one hits ATX!

Got to see the crescent sun through my low-bidder glasses, but no weird shadows like we had in 2017. Overall effect here was overcast day about 5pm.

I did shovel a little compost onto thin parts of the yard, just in case Mayan Sun Magic is in effect.
