Lost to Penn State in overtime, have obliterated the rest of their weak schedule. They should be at least three touchdown favorites in each of their remaining games, so they should end up 11-1 in the regular season with only the overtime loss in State College. They are essentially #29 in the latest AP Poll, they'll probably end up a Top 15 team this season. Just thought I'd point out a small subplot to the season. If they'd closed out that game against Penn State then it could have been a really interesting story.

Great party school.  If you want to blow daddy’s money skiing and drinking beer, not a better place.

I do wish they would have beat fucks in happy valley, but they’ve lost 2 games now so I’ll take solace in that

Skiing in North Carolina?

My Aunt used to live in a house right on the slopes at Beech Mt NC. I’ve skied lots of times in North Carolina. Almost always while drinking moonshine.

Are you aware that elevation affects climate?

I was referring to the most common form of skiing you dumbass, which would be snow skiing.

Yes, but NC isn't known for consistently colder tems and snowfall.

More like ice skating on hills.

Fuck App State, hope like hell my Jawja Southan can beat them at home next week.

You guys do know Beech Mountain's elevation is a thousand feet higher than Denver's?

Four ski areas within 30-45 minutes of campus. Yes, they rely heavily on manmade snow.

Which is why classes are empty when 2 or more inches of fresh powder falls.

I was seasonal bum in the area 30 years ago. My eldest caught my love for the area and is an AppSt freshman. I'll be there next weekend for parents weekend.

Isn't like the Appalachian trail just like parking lots and desert?

Boone, NC has the highest altitude of any town over 10,000 people east of the Mississippi. Yes, they have skiing.

I did not know that.  Swamp Loggers and Mountain Men gave a much different impression.

Jackass, you think this is supposed to be common knowledge?  Good lord.

Haha, Appalachia mountain topography & temperature involving elevation won't go away..?

Appalachian State still has the 2nd best win I have ever seen in an upset at Ann Arbor, besides Kordell Stewart back with Colorado dropping the hail mary bomb...

I wonder if he knows where the Appalachian in Appalachian State comes from. Does he know Appalachian isn't the name of an actual state?

Best skiing in in the world is found in the Poconos, just outside Pocono State.

Yeah, cut my teeth skiing in Va. at Wintergreen back in the late 70's early 80's.

Surly is full of half wits and mouth breathers, that much we do know.

And poor stupid bastards.

It would be really dope for them to get the G5 at large bid and play Michigan in a NY6.

That is about a 4 hour drive from the 3 Bs(Blowing Rock, Boone, and Banner Elk).
