If you count Brady's sacks as rushing yards, New England rushed for -2 yards...and won.

Had to put a Texas game in here. Charles breaks loose for 218 yards...in the 4th quarter.

Fresno State scores 21 points in 19 seconds, and 49 points in less than 6 and a half minutes (record still stands I believe).

If a quarterback goes out and throws 26 incomplete pasess on 26 attempts, his passer rating is 40.0.

This looks like the Chargers took their starters out after the first half and Denver didn't put theirs in until the second half. (Shout out to Jammer with the 80-yard pick six).

The backup QB threw one pass... And it was intercepted. So as a team, they were 2/17 for 8 yards, 0 TD, and 5 INT.

lmao. how do you add that into the average, but moreover how did he accomplish the yds total with that "carries?"

Texas lost to Kansas State three years in a row (2010 - 2012) by the following scores:

39-14

17-13

42-24

Texas outgained Kansas State in those three games by the following (yards):

142

189

51

So in three games we lost by a combined 47 points but outgained them by 382 yards.

We also lost to NC State in 1997 despite outgaining them by 200 yards AND winning the turnover battle.

Note: The misery index is a tad less miserable when we're 6-1.

Last night:  Patriots 43  --  Chiefs 40.

First NFL game ever to end with a score of 43-40.

I was thinking maybe a fumble recovery for positive yards.

The 2011 K State game was the worst.  K State had 121 yards of total offense.  They had 39 rushing yards on 38 attempts. They scored 17 points by drives of 13 yards after an interception (FG), 54 yards after a terrible punt catch interference penalty (TD), and 37 yards after another interception (TD).  They had 4 drives the entire game that were not 3 and out.  They had only 3 drives more than 13 yards.  Their first half drives were:

3 plays, minus 5 yards

8 plays, 13 yards

3 plays, 2 yards

3 plays, 3 yards

3 plays, minus 8 yards

3 plays, minus 7 yards

8 plays, 54 yards

Their second half drives were:

3 plays, 7 yards

7 plays, 37 yards

3 plays, 1 yard

7 plays, 31 yards

3 plays, minus 6 yards

3 plays, 4 yards

1999 and I don't think you can really consider yourself to have won the turnover battle when you get three punts blocked. They had 4 turnovers, we had 3. And we gave up 16 points directly off of blocked punts, right? As in their offense didn't even have to go on the field.

No kidding.  People like to talk about "hidden yards", I would call those "hidden turnovers".

Wasn't that Ricky's first game back after his sabbatical? I remember him slipping for about a 5-yd loss on his 1st carry.

I like how he outrushed Jorvorskie without even getting a carry.

Do you know how that made Jorvorskie feel?

I don't disagree.  I was only noting the box score per the OP's title.

I believe most of those came against Carr. And 41 pts is a shit ton of points for one quarter in the NFL as well. Game was 13-7 going into the 4th and pretty ho hum. Then all hell broke loose.

I'll always remember the punt that just stuck in the ground when the ball landed.

I remember watching that game. One of the strangest statistical games I've ever seen.

no one posted the box score from the 77-00  OU Aggy game in 2003?

https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/boxscores/2003-11-08-oklahoma.html

highlights

  • OU didn't score in the 4th quarter
  • OU scored a touchdown in each of their first 11 possessions
  • A&M : 22 yards rushing |  32 yards passing : 54 total yards.
  • First downs : Aggy 3 | OU 33
  • It's not like Aggy had a bunch of turnovers.. only 1. They just got throttled at the line of scrimmage.
  • Aggy had only 42 offensive plays
  • Aggy did not even cross their own 40 all game.

Was it Aggie or OU asking for a running clock? I forget.

Did it mention Jolly celebrating a sack down 77-0? Whoop!

That was 4th down. OU got a 1st and goal, and literally just had their OL fall down to avoid scoring again. Jolly made the "tackle" and was celebrating the "goal line stand."

That was the most domination I have ever seen in a football game. First turnover came when it was already 70-0. As posted above, it was just aggy stuffed and punts, OU buzzes right down and scores. Rinse, repeat.

Yeah, I was going to point out that it was 4th down but given the time remaining Stoops could have gone for 100 in response that day.

Georgia Tech put up 66 on Louisville a couple of weeks back with the QB passing twice with one completion for 12 yds.

Jason White had a QBRating of 303.3.

ooc.png Oklahoma Comp Att Pct Yds Y/A TD Int Sack YdsL QBRat
18 Jason White
16 18 88.9 263 14.6 5 0 1 5 303.3

Chance Mock had a passer rating of 349.5 against Rice in 2003.

And he had a passer rating of 606.4 against Kansas in 2001.

So true. the stats bare that out. If OU scored on their first 11 possessions, that means aggy had at least 11 possessions and still had only 42 offensive snaps.

42 / 11=  so, they averaged 3.8 offensive snaps per possession

it literally was in first 3 quarters....

Aggy possession 3 and out and punt

OU possesson Drive and score a TD + extra point.

Aggy possession 3 and out and punt

OU possesson Drive and score a TD + extra point.

Aggy possession 3 and out and punt

OU possesson Drive and score a TD + extra point.

Aggy possession 3 and out and punt

OU possesson Drive and score a TD + extra point.

Aggy possession 3 and out and punt

OU possesson Drive and score a TD + extra point.

Aggy possession 3 and out and punt

OU possesson Drive and score a TD + extra point.

Aggy possession 3 and out and punt

OU possesson Drive and score a TD + extra point.

Aggy possession 3 and out and punt

OU possesson Drive and score a TD + extra point.

Aggy possession 3 and out and punt

OU possesson Drive and score a TD + extra point.

Aggy possession 3 and out and punt

OU possesson Drive and score a TD + extra point.

Aggy possession 3 and out and punt

repeated 11 times. crazy.
