October 18, 20187 yr Why not, since the 2019 Texas football schedule has just been released. The Horns play at West Virginia during Weekend One, and OU Weekend Two.
October 18, 20187 yr Weekend One pro - The grounds are in good shape. Weekend Two pro - It's cooler, watch TX/OU game in beer tent.
October 18, 20187 yr Author Who knows these days with the temperature swings in early October. The good thing about the OU game at 11am is that you can watch it in the beer tent when you arrive at the Festival and still have a good chunk of the day to catch a lot of the acts. If the West Virginia game is mid-afternoon or night it would likely get in the way of more bands I want to see.
October 18, 20187 yr That's why I only watched part of the Baylor game this year. Caught most of the first quarter, walked around, checked in, then watched the last quarter or so. Early game is better, fo sho.
October 18, 20187 yr Radiohead has already been booked, dropped out, and booked again. Elton John's farewell tour is wide open during the second weekend of October. Just sayin' C3...he's in Canada right before and right after but could certainly come down and play Weekend2.
October 18, 20187 yr I'd love Elton. I'm not paying what the scalpers are charging to see him in SA. MMJ hasn't played it since 2011. DBT would be nice to have back or maybe Isbell can finally play it. Also PJ played in 2009 and 2014 so maybe...
October 18, 20187 yr All good recs. I missed the weekend that Kacey Musgraves and Chris Stapleton played. I'd like to see some more of that kind of thing. I suppose it all depends on who's touring next year.
October 18, 20187 yr I mean, tell me I'm crazy. There's a 17-day gap in his tour after he plays two shows in Manitoba. I realize he'll be 72 at that point and certainly needing some rest, but c'mon...who the fuck unwinds in Winnipeg in October? They gotta get him. He's one of the last few acts of his era on my bucket list. Basically him at (what's left of) The Who and that's it for me---I'm all caught up on rock n' roll. C'mon Elton! You're playing every other corner of Texas, why not the best part? Serious question though-does he like outdoor festivals? His show, as it is these days, is certainly more geared for large theaters.
October 19, 20187 yr The Who is a great idea for the legacy act. Oasis has said $20M is their price for a reunion. Bring the full pyro show by Rammstein to fill the metal slot. NIN has never done ACL so they're probably due.
October 19, 20187 yr Oasis at ACL 10-ish years ago was one of the worst shows I have ever seen. And that is coming from a fan of them.
October 19, 20187 yr Oasis played ACL? I honestly don't remember that. I remember Coldplay. Are those the same thing?

Weekend 2 was super humid this year so that theory went out the window. Looks like I’ll be going to Weekend 1 and the ou game

April 24, 20196 yr I remember a while back someone mentioned Elton John. Is he still a possibility? I haven’t looked at his tour dates and how they align
April 25, 20196 yr black keys and modest mouse are playing in fw around that time. would make sense they both do acl. also, george strait.

April 26, 20196 yr Thought there was some talk of Billy Joel playing ACL since he’ll be in Arlington around October, believe he hasn’t played Austin since Storm Front Tour.
April 30, 20196 yr I'm already excited Gambino is making up for last year. Then add on Gary Clark Jr and Kacey Musgraves? It's already looking solid. Edited April 30, 20196 yr by Viper
