Sounds like a good way to prioritize actual customers and not speculators

  • Hard to get the shape exactly right due to the clunky way terraforming works (at least without making it huge), but added a pond to my kids and I island this weekend

BOTW is the best video game ever made imo.

Warframe is out on Switch. It's a free to play, coop sci-fi shooter, kind of like Destiny.

You can play online without paying the Nintendo service, and you can voice chat online without using Nintendo's phone app. All through the game itself.

I've messed around with the first couple of tutorial missions and it seems to run pretty good. Trying to get used to the controls, but seems good so far.

Bought Skyrim today. I have a 256 gig card I put the larger games on.

Anyone buy Smash Ultimate? I played N64 smash a ton back in my childhood and this is the first one I've played for any decent period of time since then.

I'm having a good time! So many characters though it can be overwhelming. Right now I've unlocked about 51 in total.

I haven't played online yet, still trying to learn moves and find a few characters I enjoy. I tried out Simon for a while but now have been playing lots of Roy and that is going much better.

Some of the challengers to unlock are pretty obnoxious/difficult. So are some of the fights in the adventure mode.

I downloaded Smash tonight. This is the first Smash game I've ever played. I've only unlocked maybe 3 more characters. Trying to learn how to control and how the combos work so I've only played single player on easy.

But it's lots of fun. I've done a few fights in the adventure mode and a few in classic mode.

I pre-ordered it in April, it came in last week but it's under the tree right now for the boy on Christmas. Hopefully Smash and Mario vs Rabbids will get him off Fortnite for a little bit.

Downloaded the Atari compilation today. 150 games. Arcade, 2600, and 5200 ones. Going to relive my childhood for a bit. Missile Command and Asteroids, here I come. Really like the Switch for retro gaming.

Yep. Arcade and 2600 versions.

I've had visions of simply deleting it off of the Switch.  Technical failures...don't look at me!

Could have grabbed the game out, then wrapped the box. Maybe add a rock for weight.

Diablo 3 is a lot of fun.

Diablo 3 is a lot of fun.
Can you do cross platform with Xbox One? If so, we'll grift.

On sale for Xbox One for 20 bucks. Might buy it for that, too. Rather play online through that system, anyway.

Do it. We'll rip a hole through the underworld.

I grabbed it. 20 bucks for The Eternal Collection. I'll add you. My username is Pointmonger.

Man the switch is cool. I didn't realize it was that cheap until I asked my brother how much he paid for his yesterday. We had 4 player Smash going on and it was a lot of fun. I like seeing how they have Mario, Crash Bandicoot, Kirby, and Donkey Kong platformers with Luigi's Mansion coming out too. I may have to pick one up.

It's also great for smaller indie game ports from the PC. Several of the better ones I already had on PC and can't bring myself to pay for them again but I wish I could play on the switch.

Indie games may be its biggest strength.

Picked up a switch plus Smash and Odyssey on my lunch break today. I hope it wasn't a wasted $400.00.

Finally joined the club. My wife surprised me with a Switch and a copy of Breath of the Wild yesterday.

On a funny note, I got the same main Xmas present as my niece and nephews, who are 7 and 4, respectively. I'm 34.

Not wasted.

Played it for awhile on Christmas with my nephew. Pretty badass. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger now

Yeah so even just playing the NES games was great. Played some smash with the misses. I'm going to pick up some odyssey before bed.

Me too.

Afterwards I got out the switch to play.

Used some Christmas eShop cards to get Mario Party and Civilization 6.

Both seem very good so far. It will be nice to play a few turns of Civ at a time and quickly pick it up and out it down without having to load it all up on the PC.

I should be back tonight, so I'll be available to blow some shit up.

I have to warn you though, I'm kind of a big deal.

I'm not. Still leveling up. Had to work this week. Didn't get any time in.

If I catch you on I can drag you through a couple of rifts. One rift is good for 0-lvl46. It plateaus hard, but can get you to 70 in about 2 hours.

Sounds good. I will probably be on the latter half of this week and weekend. Then out of town for a week.

Anyone got a rec for a Switch pro controller that doesn't cost $70?

It's taking me longer than usual to get used to the controls trying to play BOTW with the joy-cons. Just so different than what I'm used to on PS4.

I finally bought a pro controller after using the normal ones for a year and a half. Mostly for Smash. It really is a lot more comfortable.

I never had an issue with the button sizes but my pinkie fingers would cramp after a while for some reason holding the thing up.

The pro con lets those fingers rest more naturally.

It’s worked well for me so far. Cords don’t bother me, so it wasn’t a big deal. Works just fine although there are some obvious disadvantages with any pro controller (wired or not) in some games that allow for special moves based on motion.

I've got a little playtime with it now and Civ 6 on Switch is solid. Good port. Controls are done well.

Anyone having problems with the controller? The original one started panning up for no reason and on the second set, the A button occasionally stops working.

Panning is a calibration issue. There’s info on google. Dunno about the A button.

I think the article said calibration issue happens if the stick is out of position whennthe system is turned on. I’ve had it happen on my pro controller a couple times when I wasn’t paying attention. First time fresked me out.

Seconded. Picked this up last week and if you like the Civ games, this one is done very fucking well.

Looking forward to Mario Maker 2. I never bought the original on Wii U because I figured they'd come out with a version for the Switch, just took a lot longer than I anticipated.

We got our kids one for xmas. We play Mario cart and Mario party as a family. Good family fun (although I think my wife is now more addicted then our kids)
