October 26, 20187 yr I am looking for a relatively cheap venue for a martial arts tournament. Ideally it would be located in Austin, but San Antonio could also work. The space would need to have space for two 25 ft by 25 ft square rings. We would also need use of electrical outlets. Wifi would be a big plus. Temperature control would be nice, but since it's in May, it's not absolutely necessary. It could be an outdoor location if there is sufficient cover from potential rainfall. The footing absolutely cannot get wet. We would need the venue from early afternoon through mid evening or later. The event will probably be on a Saturday. Does anyone know of a location that could house an event like this?

October 26, 20187 yr Which martial art? I know some BJJ tournaments were held at Huto high school. But not sure of price. But maybe look into high schools that rent out their gymnasium.
October 26, 20187 yr Is Camp Mabry still letting people do stuff, or has it been condo'd over? A long shot, but this would be awesome: http://www.internationalshaolinaustin.com/?q=contact-us

The closest thing to it would be something like Historical European Martial Arts long sword, as most people fight 2 handed and the pace is similar. But we use lightsabers... because... lightsabers. https://nerdist.com/lightsaber-tournament-star-wars-battle/

It's usually been in Zilker but that place is still in recovery from the music festival. We'll probably be at Browning Hangar for several more weeks.
