Herman is not messing around with OL roster management. I like how many irons he throws in the fire.

GT Virginia OL coming in this weekend

From TFB on Proctor:

Background: A very highly recruited prospect. As soon as he announced his intentions to transfer, he received communications from dozens of schools. After redshirting as a freshman, RJ Proctor has appeared in 32 games during the last three years including twelve starts. He did miss some time last season due to a knee injury suffered during preseason camp, but came back and started in six games.

Recruitment: Herb Hand has been in constant contact with Proctor, and as we reported, he has a scheduled an official visit to Texas on February 16th.  The other schools that are in serious contention with Texas are Florida State OU, and Penn State who are each expecting official visits.

Breakdown: At 6’4” and 335 pounds, he’ll bring some size into the offensive line room that isn’t really there. Whether it is in the pass or the run game, Proctor is a clog in the middle of the field and is hard to get past. He’s comfortable mauling somebody between the tackles and working his way up through the middle of the field.

However, here is the hole I consistently saw in his game. What you get in size, you lose in mobility. Virginia often used him as a pulling guard (as would Texas), but he just looks like he’s fighting through mud to get downfield. But it isn’t just outside the pocket. There were a few instances I saw where a quick linebacker made short work of him during stunts. Here is a pretty blatant example:

It doesn’t happen all the time, but it is very reminiscent of the problems that Patrick Vahe had in pass protection.

(Personally hoping Parker Braun from GaTech ends up at Texas vs Proctor.)

Says her location is Phoenix, AZ and most of her Twitter timeline is retweeting Bob Shipley's tweets. No mention of Ron (Edit: before 2019).

Thx to Hipho for this.....  From his Bio at Rutgers:

2018 (Redshirt Junior): Started 11 games at right guard ... named honorable mention All-Big Ten by the coaches and media (11/28) ... named to the Academic All-Big Ten list (12/5) ... part of an offensive line unit that ranked second in the Big Ten and 19th nationally with only 1.33 sacks permitted per game ... helped the team to over 200 rushing and passing yards in the season opener against Texas State (9/1) ... voted a team captain.

Ohio State just got Jonah Jackson.....

When is Braun deciding?  Would we take he and Proctor, or just one?

According to below article, Braun coming to Austin March 1st.  I've read speculation that Texas wants Braun the most, followed by Proctor.

Proctor was 3rd behind Braun and Jackson. So with Jackson choosing Ohio State, Proctor moves up a spot. I think the pecking order now is

1) Braun

2) Proctor

3) JUCO OT that visited with Proctor
