December 8Dec 8 Home Slice is dry af. Every time I take a bite it's like the Sahara desert invading my mouth. Needs way more sauce. It's not the worst pizza in Austin, but any time my friends suggest going there, I either steer them someplace else, or I just skip it and meet them out afterward. Back to TexMex. December 8Dec 8 stick to Chicago or Detroit style. The sauce is a binder in NY style, not the main event. Focus is on the cheese, dough and toppings. I'm sure you can ask for extra sauce. It is not the best but top 10 in town easy.

Actually, I'm with you on sauce -- I like more sauce and less cheese than most joints pile on. That said, Home Slice has great dough and toppings, and the sauce tastes good, it's just too light.

Home Slice is not one of them.

I like something lighter with a bit more crisp. 57 minutes ago, ChickenSandwich said: stick to Chicago or Detroit style. The sauce is a binder in NY style, not the main event. December 12Dec 12 El Mercado South is closing next week. This one hurts. I've been going there since 1988. Maybe not the best food, but great folks and always easy to park and get in. De Nada is taking over the space.
