Home Slice is dry af.  Every time I take a bite it's like the Sahara desert invading my mouth.  Needs way more sauce.  It's not the worst pizza in Austin, but any time my friends suggest going there, I either steer them someplace else, or I just skip it and meet them out afterward.

Back to TexMex.

stick to Chicago or Detroit style.  The sauce is a binder in NY style, not the main event.  Focus is on the cheese, dough and toppings.  I'm sure you can ask for extra sauce.  It is not the best but top 10 in town easy.

Actually, I'm with you on sauce -- I like more sauce and less cheese than most joints pile on.  That said, Home Slice has great dough and toppings, and the sauce tastes good, it's just too light.

There are non-deep-dish places that use enough sauce.  There are NY/NJ places that use enough sauce.  Home Slice is not one of them.

They do good salads too.

I find their pizza to be kind of sloppy. I like something lighter with a bit more crisp.

Detroit style isn't my favorite but I like Jet's pretty well.

El Mercado South is closing next week. This one hurts. I've been going there since 1988. Maybe not the best food, but great folks and always easy to park and get in. De Nada is taking over the space.
