I've gotta say, the sourdough pizza rolls at Rockin' Rolls (food truck, 5000 Burnet) are fantastic.  We've tried 3 of the 9 varieties, and all kicked ass. Throw them a bone. We've ordered: C

Seriously.  The family friendly pizzeria of our childhood already fucking exists.  It's Conan's. Deep dish for the adults, thin cheese pizza for the kids, the tastiest but unhealthiest side salad you

Not much longer before the new SW Austin DeSano is open.  I'll be able to ride my bike to DeSano.  So happy for this.  I haven't peeked in lately but they're laying the foundation for an expanded outdoor patio and last time I looked, they had at least three ovens inside.

First place my friends from Italy recommended to me when we moved back to Austin was DeSano.  Its great.  We like the Burnet location but its a PITA from SW Austin.  This one is so close to us.  We're thrilled.  They use legit ovens from Napoli.

Pictures from their FB of the ovens going in...

May be an image of lumberyard and text that says '&T PIZZ L2 PIZZERIA ERIA DESANO ETA ComingThisSummer! Th This is Summer! ComingT This'

DeSano is very good, but pricey.  I could have sworn that they didn't allow modifications, but on their order page it's clearly possible to eliminate some toppings.  Was it just no substitutions or add-ons?

I've always gone with what they have on the menu and am usually fine with a margherita so I don't know anything about substitutions or modifications.

Yeah, margherita is typically my way to benchmark a new pizza joint.

My 2nd favorite pizza in Austin.  So good.

Palm Pizza, it’s owned by the Bufalina people.  Very good!

(It's a lot closer to Dripping Springs than Austin, and I don't care.)  I got dragged to some "holiday market" this morning and on the way back spotted Route 12 Filling Station.  "Pull over, honey, I need a beer."  We ordered a margherita pizza and I'll be damned if it wasn't a great pie.  I didn't see the oven, but they claim it's wood-fired.  The pizza was roughly Neopolitan in style, and it was terrific.  I have no idea what this place's reputation is or if we just got lucky, but I'd go there in a heartbeat if it were in Austin.  As is, it's more of a weekend drive destination, which is fine.
