I used to drive by the PourHouse location damn near every day, but never stopped in after they tore down the original to build those apartments. I guess you park in the parking garage.

Yep.  I always found open spots right near the north entrance to the garage.

I will be partaking of some sammiches.

Tam Deli has my favorite banh mi, but I haven't been since BC.  It was a regular lunch spot when I was still working in the office in the area.

Tried a place up next to H-MArt that was pretty good, Banh Mi Galang.

Jew Boy Subs in the old Pour House on Burnet is great. Better beer selection than than the Pour House too.

Chicken fajita sub.

Can confirm. Had the carne asada cheesesteak (border style) and it was fantastic. I think I enjoyed the sandwich more than the burger.

I think there was a change of ownership a couple years ago, no?  How has it held up?

Hard to find a great BLT in town, but Billy's BLT with. 512 IPA is pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Hmmm, I've never had the BLT at Billy's.  However, I have had many hundreds of 512 IPAs there.  Time for a return trip.

IMG_3543.thumb.jpeg.56fbc0212610ebb0b5310c87d61613da.jpegI had the new Pinthouse Italian sub today. It’s up there with the Home Slice version. HS would win with me because of the toasted bread but Pinthouse is close.

The Parisian from the rotisserie chicken place at Fareground at 111 Congress. Fresh baguette with just butter, cheese, and ham. The perfect simple sandwich. Delicious.

The 45-year-old deli will open at the very same West Sixth address in downtown Austin https://t.co/JbZpUvRSXV

meatball sub at pinthouse is good, but not $15 good.

Had it last night. Opted for no pesto but added the banana peppers. It was good but the Italian is better.

Had the tuna today… always fire and a close second to the Italian IMO

Jewboy sub shop is apparently closing. I hate losing a non-chain sandwich shop in the area, but I apparently didnt hate the prospect enough to go very often. that location kind of sucked.

"Our lease is up and other opportunities call.

Gone, but not forgotten is the theme here as many of our menu items, or versions of them will make their way into our other locations.

Stay tuned for our next journey starting next month. Details forthcoming."

went twice, it wasn't very good either time. liked the short lived cantina concept way more than the sub shop.

I agree with this (also tried it twice). There are a lot of better sandwich places in town. Not many better burger places than Jewboys Burger though.

Went to Burger once.

Mid defined.

I had a decidedly 'meh" cheesesteak there once.  Other visits were good for a beer, but I can't say I ever had a transcendent sammich.

This. I’ve tried to like it twice, but disappointed both times.

Yep. I didn't get the hype at all. I can get a much better burger for cheaper at Dan's.
