July 2, 20223 yr Support Top Notch. He needs as much business as possible due to his property tax nut basically doubling this year. Good to know.I’ve gotten to where, when I want a takeout burger, I skip Whataburger and head the extra coupla blocks to TN.
July 2, 20223 yr Author The Stanishes were bigtime boosters for Anderson High, and as high school kids we ate a lot of meals at Top Notch. Love the place and still drop by probably once per month. I do enjoy the fried chicken but it's tough for me to pass up the Longhorn Special with onion rings...

He’s a good guy definitely worth supporting. He walks the walk in keeping old Austin alive. He’s also a co owner of Lala’s and a few other restaurants.
July 2, 20223 yr Haven't been to Lala's since Francis sold it. The demographic seems much younger these days. Good for them, though.
July 2, 20223 yr Back in my AMD days, co-worker brought in Walmart FC for a pot luck remembered it being pretty good and I believe they had 20, 50 even 100pc orders. This was 20 years or so ago so who knows if it’s still a thing at Wally World. #TeamBillMillerFriedChicken
July 2, 20223 yr Randall's fried chicken is pretty good. You just have to be sure it hasn't been sitting out for hours. If you have a large gathering, you can get 50 pieces for $47.99. Just make sure you time the order right so you are earing it shortly after you pick it up.

Well, you could find out where James found this “tortilla” and everyone can share, might even be some leftover... 22 hours ago, Jameslaw121 said: There is some green chili salsa in there you can really see Sent from my SM-A515U using Tapatalk Could fit all 50 pcs of Wally FC on it.
October 28, 20223 yr T22 just sold to a private equity firm which has plans for expansion. So get ready for that restaurant to go downhill. Statesman link
February 19Feb 19 If you haven't been by Donkey Mo's on Airport yet, I highly recommend. Super crispy (twice fried?) and not greasy in the slightest. I had the naked wings (no sauce) and they were the best fried chicken I'd had in a damn long time. https://www.donkeymos.com/

December 8Dec 8 Was at a lunch yesterday where someone brought a box of bone-in fried chicken for Tumble22, spice level "hot." It was damned near perfect. Spice level was just right -- had a bite, but not distracting or overwhelming (yeah, yankees and euros might sweat and complain, but most Texans should be able to handle it with no problem). Perfectly cooked and crispy, nice big pieces. I was genuinely impressed, and it's some of the best fried chicken I've had in Austin. I may get the bone-in next time we go to T22.

T22 has become one of my favorites. I still prefer Gus's but it's much further away from me so I visit infrequently.

December 8Dec 8 My wife and I went to T22 the day before Thanksgiving for lunch. I got some tenders "hot". I'm not a heat freak, not by a long shot, but next time I'm going "Mo Hot", and bone-in.

December 8Dec 8 I usually go between Dang Hot and Clucking Hot. T22 used to call no-spice chicken “Wimpy,” but I guess they hurt too many feelings.

December 14Dec 14 Only today, did I learn about this place and their apparently damned good fried chicken. This, despite the fact that I've lived in Tyler for nearly 24 years. I need to pay them a visit and report back for the good of mankind. Edited December 14Dec 14 by dcbc
