Happened about 90 min ago so details are nil. Anyways... good to see everyone back in a thread like this. What's it been, a few weeks?

No, the synagogue shooting was October 27th, so not even two weeks since.

They're saying multiple fatalities including the shooter. Happened at a country and western themed bar on some sort of college night.

First report I saw said 11 wounded. Local CBS guy just said 11 confirmed dead. I don't know if that's accurate or not.

Okay, I guess that's confirmed.

Mitchel Hunter, 19, from Simi Valley, said he saw the gunman. He described him as having light skin with black hair. He said he had a short-barreled semi automatic pistol with a big magazine.

First quote is from NBC

Well aside from the security guard and policeman who got killed.

Apparently one of the survivors of this shooting was present at the Vegas massacre.

We have so many of these things now victims are double dipping.  JFC

Well that’s fucking horrible.

So far sounds like a lone gunman with a pistol.

Two separate individuals.

Not just any pistol. A semi automatic short barreled pistol.

The suspect is thought to be a depressed country music loner.  This is his rumored picture

So a glock 19 with a 33 round magazine... not that I know but from early descriptions it’s a high probability

[GOP]Thoughts and prayers.  This is not the time to debate gun policy.  Don't politicize this.[/GOP]

When is the tipping point ?  Kids in a day care center didn't do it, so I'm not sure when... oh wait.... I know......when a gunmen breaks in on a session of Congress. That'll do it for damn sure.

Large magazine weapons are not needed by any citizen of this country, ever, no matter how much fun they are too fire.

This idiot obviously completely misunderstood shot night at the bar.

If white people aren't safe at a Country/Western Bar, I don't know what to tell you

Just one more reason not to listen to country music.

Well this hits close to home. Wife went to Pepperdine and we frequented this bar numerous times as we traveled to LA for a few weddings over the years. It is a popular place to go for students.

I have my CHL and the frequency of this shit is the reason  I always carry.  The only places I don’t are the airport and government buildings with metal detectors.

I understand the chances of me being somewhere a spree shooter goes off are microscopic but I bet you those folks last night thought the same thing.

Shove it up your crusty calloused ass.

You've obviously never seen 48 Hours.  There's a new sheriff in town, and his name is .......Reggie Hammond.

Conversely, I own plenty of firearms but I will never be concealed carrying.  It’s just too much of a pain in the ass to lug around a loaded pistol.  If a mass shooter is going to gun me down, so be it.  If I’m legitimately worried about getting shot in public, I’ll move.

This would have never happened if California had a ban on high capacity magazines.

Haha so funny because they do.

I'll take that bet. What should we wager

Certainly understand your attitude.  I carry for the same reason I wear my seat belt when I drive and my helmet when I ride my motorcycle...just in case.

Can’t carry in a bar in Texas anyway. At least one where the majority of sales are alcohol.

I wouldn't be listening to country anymore

My nephew is a Ventura County firefighter. He was called to the scene and had to tag the dead bodies. Fuck. Fuck this shit

Lots of Pepperdine folk attended the Vegas country concert and we knew a few who were there, one who was hit. Hearing their stories was terrifying; no one should have to see people murdered right in front of them.

From news reports it sounds like Wednesday was college night. My guess is this survivor of two mass shootings is a college student. Your four years is supposed to have a lot of memories but not these type of memories.

Well if it was a country & western bar, then the bet should be a fiddle of gold against your soul.

Do nightclubs in Texas let you carry now?  Seems like they'd pat you down. Alcohol, people in their early 20s, and guns don't mix well. Even if the carrier has good intentions.

I would bet the bouncer patted down everyone who entered this place in CA. The guy just came up, shot him, and entered.
