I think everyone in the building knew DO was getting blocked on that weak layup drive attempt

for a team that "wants to run" we sure do take forever to get the ball in bounds after a make.

Tight nets

Yeesh- first game I’ve watched this year....we suck. New year, same problems: can’t make layups, can’t make free throws.

Something is strange about Osetkowski. He seems worse than last year, where he seemed worse than the year before. He also doesn’t seem very happy on the court. No smiles, very little emotion. You’d think losing 25 pounds would have the opposite effect.

Coleman and Sims also look upset at having to play basketball.

we can't shoot mainly because we don't get good shots in any type of flow.   this year will be a beating without Bamba helping erase on the defensive end and cleaning up the mess on the O end.  Sims is good but he's not Bamba.

They’re probably pissed because it’s such a struggle to find an open shot with these shitty-ass offensive sets

I have some concerns regarding Coleman as a distributor.

His hair sucks this year.

amazing how quiet the drum is during the free throws.

everyone is thinking "we aren't going to lose to ULM are we?"

If it's any concession Vermont is up on Kansas right now.

Best 5 I’ve seen thus far...

coleman, Roach, Hayes, Sims and Ramey. It’s our best pressure 5 as well.

I've heard pancho say that there is no over the back foul in college, but that referee clearly just said "over the back" on that call.

Coleman is a defensive liability.  He is getting taken to school by a 6 foot white dude from the ymca.  Then on offense he does not create anything.

Vic stopped calling him?

just seems like a leaderless group throwing it up there and hoping for the best.

I'm seriously curious what we practice.  We are good at almost nothing.

can we get a 6 foot white guy who can shoot?

hepa is a sight for bleeding eyes off the ball. i'm sure his eagerness for off ball movement will be killed by shaka by conference

There still isn’t “over the back” rather it’s technically a push foul for displacement.

Older officials who are some of the 1%ers of referees (like those in this game) won’t be called out on using the wrong vernacular.

what? our passes around the perimeter are spot on.

Oh, I see you said almost....

Yes. He is a very smart player.  He needs to get more aggressive.  That will come with games.  Right now he is just looking to pass unless he is wide open.  Several times  he’s gotten his man in the air and then just passed it.

Either nobody moves at all or they crowd on top of each other in the post.  I'm no basketball expert but it is just hard to watch

This is such an accurate description. It's crazy how there is zero development of players from year to year. Literally nobody improves.

Feel like that’s a little dramatic.... sims from start of last year till the end. Roach from almost leaving to now borderline mythical draftable.

which is why it will likely be over this year.

Lance Blanks is a great addition to the broadcasts.  He says the things I am thinking.  Like "somebody wearing orange needs to get those loose balls."

i realize how that sounds.  But typing on an iPad sucks so it stays.

like blanks but speculating on ULM coming out of the Zone down 5 is uhhh...

good job by coleman of being aggressive there.

Alright we got a small lead on the mighty Warhawks of Monroe. Now milk the clock and pray!

they called Long OOB and not a foul?

They didn't close well in the first two.  Closing this out by ten would be a good step.

the zone has been the difference because their guards were breaking our guards down in man

what the hell is that call on Hayes.  horrible.

Since this year isn't about shuttling any golden boys to the NBA, maybe we just play zone the whole time? It isn't against the rules ya know.

yep. not good if the warhawks can break us down. good to get some zone practice because we are going to need it.

Seems they are more willing to run on offense after playing zone too

Does someone want to explain that last foul called on Hayes?

probably some new "point of emphasis" thing which will get tossed away in conf because every kansas big will foul out in 10 minutes.
